Anne had let us know that there was a sudden problem with the central heat, and the work needed to be done to fix it would have had the plumber there during our stay, and she didn’t want us bothered. The house was warm enough, and we made a fire in the evenings in the wood stove. Anne actually refunded us a discount for the inconvenience. Not necessary (it was mild temps), but a generous gesture from a good host.
