The location was perfect, off the main highway but, close enough that you could walk to shops and restaurants. Beach location and access was great! I appreciate the fact the toilet paper, trash bags, shampoo and conditioner, were available! Coffee and creamer along with teas made it easy! You had what you needed to make your stay simple with a true vacay feel! Only gripe was being watched on outside cameras, although I understand the need for protecting your investment it felt like you were being watched every time you entered or exited the home. We had a lovely stay for a last-minute Memorial Day weekend at the OBX in this rental. The hosts were communicative, helpful, friendly and provided so many nice extra touches for their guests. The home was wonderfully decorated, steps from the pool and the beach, and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The location was fantastic. Close to the beach, just a short walk out the front door, and centrally located to everything we needed or wanted to do. We had never been to OBX before, there are so many homes close together and yet we felt separated at the Whale Cottage providing the peace and privacy we wanted. It had everything we needed and was quite close to the beach. We stayed too early in the season for the pool but the hot tub was great.
