Naan Island East

Room was generally tidy although upon entering there was a bad as if someone had been to the toilet. When we arrived I asked a male member of staff at reception did he know or could he recommend anywhere to exchange sterling into Euros. This member of staff informed he didnt know anywhere that would be open to facilitate this request. When I went back to my room I read the guest handbook to see that the hotel itself did exchange euros. On our way to the restaurant we asked the same member of staff could he change £100 sterling like it says in the guest handbook. He was reluctant and unhelpful and offered a dreadful exchange rate. If this is something that hotel does not cater for it should be removed from the guest handbook. If it is something that the hotel does cater for training the staff on compliance with this would be essential. On a brighter the food in the restaurant was outstanding great value top quality.

The main hotel is well presented and front of house staff were welcoming and accomodating. Free parking is available close by, I was shown to the appartment which is around 150 yards from the main building and situated above a petrol station. The appartment itself was spacious and reasonably clean however it was tired and in need of refurbishment. a fridge freezer was place randomly in the living kitchen area, I assume to account for the built in one which was not useable and not able to be closed properly. usual utensils were available however no complimentary tea or coffe supplied. The bedroom was large and the bed comfortable. there was a rack for hanging clothes but no hangers. The bathroom was OK once I discovered how to get hot water. the bath was slippy and would benefit from a matt. When the fire alarm went off at 05:15 I had to walk to the main hotel reception in the rain to alert the staff that this was going on. They then attempted to turn this off with no success. fire brigade then attended. Overall I would not reccomend the 'comfort' appartments. that being said I'm not sure how good bad or indifferent the main hotel itself is. Breakfast in the attached restaurant was nice.
