If you're up for an adventurous ride, take the hour drive to Shelter Cove for stunning coastal scenery in a remote location on California's "Lost Coast". The goal is to disconnect from work and stress and recharge the batteries. I've always been looking for a place thats private, centrally located to the Avenue, clean and quiet. Watching the moon rise over the Eel River from the patio under a redwood with lights dancing across the railing was a magical way to celebrate my wife's birthday. The only downside was that the property is currently for sale. We just loved this place! Nestled about equal distance between Miranda and Myers Flats, and right in the middle of Avenue of the Giants. Quaint eateries in both towns, including a supermarket. The home has lots of space to relax and cook both inside and out, including a Weber grill. And the bed was a perfect firmness. Sandee was extremely responsive any time we had questions.
