"The owner is a wonderful gentleman and the house is like staying at your own luxury resort that you have all to yourself. I preferred dealing with the owner directly for local Q&A rather than Vacasa.com that officially manages the property as vacasa never seemed to have true local insights, weren’t timely and sometimes sent AI generated answers to my questions. We stayed for two weeks, had a chef come in and a masseuse. Views are epic. Roads are genuine Costa Rican roads but worth it for the surfing, fishing, wildlife and the sunsets from the pool will be lifelong memories for our family. Epic place!"
Carrillo Beach, nature and tranquility

"Much better than anticipated. Away from the hustle and bustle of Samara and far safer. It is a small cottage with everything you would want or need for preparing meals or washing your clothes. The hosts were awesome and their son was a delight to jam with on guitars. For me, it could not be beat. It is close to Playa Carrillo, but need transportation. I had my vehicle, so it was all good."

"We had a wonderful stay at Casa Magna!Our favourite things:VERY spacious for our party of 7.Well equipped kitchen. Everything we needed!Comfortable living room with smart TV.Patio - loved! Big patio, nice big table and chairs for eating outside. Pool - small but enough for us and it got deep enough to feel like swimming! Also Tiki Hut for chatting/beverages.Bedrooms were clean and pleasant with lots of storage space. Linens were cool and comfortable. AC and fans were excellent in bedrooms (with one exception - see below). Beds were firm but comfortable with lots of pillows.Bathrooms were clean with decent shower pressure, and there were THREE bathrooms which was awesome.Laundry- washer/dryer combo worked well for our needs.Location - was great for us - loved the privacy. Beach was about a 10 minute walk and beautiful to visit.Minor things that weren't perfect:Some minor cosmetic things in the house. Holes in the cement walls that hadn't been filled. Picture frames with frayed edges. AC in one bedroom gave us trouble. Water ran down the wall and made puddles on the floor. Paul was awesome about responding to our concerns and had repair technicians come, however the problem remained throughout our stay. At least there was a fan and we were able to run the AC unit sometimes.Could have used a few more towels. I think there was 1 per person for 5 days.Road to house (off highway) was rough. We are used to gravel roads but these were very bumpy. Be aware :)"
