Awful Stains on carpets , curtains and fusty smell

The hotel had some character. We booked car parking for £12 a night at the rear of the hotel, we did not expect to park on waste ground with a 75 yard walk to the back door. The room was small but OK. We booked a table for 7pm. in the restaurant when we arrived the room was empty and no sign of staff, we enquired in the bar to be told that meals were being served in the bar. We ordered drinks to have with the meal and were asked to pay for them, we said would they book it to our room, this seemed to cause a problem. The menu was very limited, it was nearly an hour before our meals arrived the food was good and the Waffles are well worth investigating. We paid for our meals because it appeared that they did not have system set up to add it to our room. We could not have a printed receipt but could have a text or e-mail. We were grateful we had only booked one night. We will not be rebooking, nor would we recommend it to anybody.

This hotel lacks Management, Supervision and Staff training. We had reserved 2 rooms and the air conditioning was not working in either. The staff were unable to rectify the air conditioning even in 30degrees of heat. The windows were screwed shut so we were unable to open them to at least get fresh air. The bar had no tomato juice or zero tonic water. At breakfast time we were advised there was no marmalade! Dinner was very average. All in all a unsatisfactory stay

Very tired, lack of cooling makes a bad nights sleep when hot. Food ok, on our stay, many items were not available on menu
