"We stayed in the cabin and it was a a basic one room cabin with only microwave and mini fridge. The nicest thing was the rain shower head in the shower. The bed was a queen with little room on each side of it. Probably would have been better with a king room in hotel. You had to request room service as we did after the first day. The other issue is the restaurant on site wasn’t open till 4pm and closed on Monday. The staff is great but they have really limited staffing so they do the best they can as restaurant limits reservations as they are the bartenders, servers, and they clean up the tables plus handle many tables so you need your patience. Also no one is at the desk till 4pm so when you check out you just leave your key at the desk."
Writer’s Retreat. Secluded Waterfront Bras d’Or Lake, Cape Breton
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful one week stay in July. The home is stocked with everything you could need, plus lots of labeled extra supplies. I found the home very clean and very organized, which I love. Saw many fox and deer right out front and back, which was such a treat. Its a pleasant stroll down to the lake, and a nice long shore to walk on (rocky, for those with mobility issues). St. Peter's is the closest small town (20 min) which has some of the necessities. Walking or biking along the historic locks there, and the adjoining Coastal Trail, is a pleasant local activity. The home is a great place to relax and unwind. It is about 1.5 hours from the start of the Cabot Trail, which itself is hours long. Just something to note if that is your primary reason for visiting Cape Breton. My favorite spots on my trip was the Groovy Goat Farm on the Cabot Trail, and Donelda's Puffin boat tour."

"Charmante maison tout près d'une plage de galets. Il y a des sentiers de 4-roues à proximité pour se promener sur des falaises et des plages.
Communication simple avec l'hôte."

Dome 5 · Luxury Lakeside Dome Experience Private Hot Tub
10/10 Excellent
"It was everything we were looking for. Quite, great scenery. The dome was clean and was equipped with anything you would need or want...except tea. Lots of coffee but no tea. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. "
Lake View Cottage With Private Hot Tub - Lazy Bear
10/10 Excellent
"We had an incredible stay at Lazy Bear cottage! The view was absolutely stunning, and the hosts Alexandra and the Mashaghati family thought of everything. The interior was spotless, with charming decor that made the space feel cozy and welcoming. The bed was super comfy, and there were plenty of towels provided for both the hot tub and bathroom. We especially appreciated the thoughtful extras like robes and slippers, which added a luxurious touch. After long days of exploring the beauty of Cape Breton, the hotter and fire pit on the porch were the ultimate way to unwind - peaceful, relaxing, and just perfect. Every amenity was provided, even coffee to start our mornings right. This rental truly sets the bar for what all others should strive to achieve. A five-star experience in every way! "
