The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The family dogs were welcome. We used the golf cart quite a bit to get around and explore the property. Could not have asked for a better experience.
This was our second time staying at the property. We love the home, owners, and peace and quiet of the area. Such a beautiful property. Close enough to Mt. View and Batesville if a quick trip to town is required.
We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. It was peaceful and beautiful. There's so much to do and enjoy on the property and the things needed to take full advantage of the place (canoes, golf cart, grills, etc.) are provided. The house looks a little rustic from the outside, but inside it's clean, modern and had all the amenities needed to cook and care for 11 people. Also, the hosts went extra miles to make our stay a great one..
We had the most amazing and relaxing time together! We will definitely be back. Next time we will be renting the RV as well for more space, but this is definitely a place we are already recommending to our friends here in Texas!!!! Love love love! We will be back! The hosts were AMAZING!! Those cinnamon rolls…OMG!!!
Privacy except for friendly informative employees. Doc is a pleasure to visit with. Children had a great time especiaaly the ones old enough to drive golfcarts with adult supervision. Fishing , walking, biking wildlife [more humingbirds than I ever saw at one time ] . If you want family fun and privacy this is the place
We went with friends for the Bean Festival. Although it rained quite a bit, we still had a couple of nice days to explore the property on the golf cart provided. We were also able to use the firepit and outdoor grilling area. On the day it rained there was plenty of things to do inside! We were also happy to see that the kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for meals. Overall, we had a wonderful time and are already talking about planning another trip there!
The second time we stayed at this location. It was wonderful to see the stars, be so close to the river for fishing, paddling, tubing and hiking. It was very relaxing. The caretakers were very accessible and responsive. They leave a golf cart to get around should you choose to use it. The city center is about 20 minutes away with a great folk art center and nightly folk music at the square. The arcade game was an extra touch. Kitchen has the supplies and appliances you need, the washer/dryer work great and there are plenty of linens. We had a great family vacation and hope to come again.
So many wonderful things about our stay. We traveled for my Father in laws 83rd birthday. The views & wildlife were spectacular. The home was beautifully decorated, excellent water pressure. (That’s always a biggie for me!) The rivers were beautiful, fishing was so fun. We enjoyed the canoes, kayaks & paddle boards. We hiked the island, saw Trout, Eagles & even a brief bear spotting across the river. Pets were allowed & they enjoyed the property as well. Access to the golf cart was a bonus for my ole Pop. Would definitely visit again! Thank you for the beautiful memories.
Our family of five stayed here for 4 nights. We had plenty of room, and it can accommodate many more people than five. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This was the perfect place to unwind. The kids loved riding along on the golf cart. We went fishing, canoeing, and hiking on the property. Blanchard Springs Cavern and the Old Folk Village are a short drive away. Those two attractions were really enjoyable for all of us. The place was clean, and very nice. The kids didn't want to leave. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful property with creeks and rivers to keep everyone excited. Lightening bugs in the woods during quiet evening walks. The home is recently remodeled with care to make it family friendly. This is the remote country, and an amazing escape at a level well above glamping. There are bugs and wildlife that should be expected out in the wild. Expect to spend time cooking, sitting on the porch, and no real city experiences closer than 30m. The property team goes out of their way to make the stay welcoming.
My family spent 6 nights here. Beautiful property, well maintained. We spent time fishing, catching minnows, paddle boarding, rowing, tubing, cooking at the fire pit, and hiking. We saw deer, crawfish, bass, minnows, eagles. The property is so large there is a golf cart to use to get around if you want. The caretakers were so attentive, there were fishing poles and they left bait for us, amazing cinnamon rolls, and s’mores, such a heartwarming touch. Most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in a VRBO. The appliances worked well, and a special bonus was an arcade game Pac-Man and Galagea. A family friend recommended this property and it was amazing, we would definitely come back again. We were all sad to leave.
Pros - this place is perfect if you love the outdoors and seclusion. We packed all the food and activities we needed for our week and never had to leave the property. Doc and Kathy met us there with smores and a ride around on the cart to show us the property. They were very helpful and friendly. The canoe, kayak and paddle board were perfect as was the river access and trails. The cabin had all the amenities needed with an abundance of kitchen utensils, towels, bedding, and even extras right down to detergent and bath salts. The TV and Wi-Fi worked great and the kids loved PacMan. The beds were comfortable as was the furniture. There was a toaster, air fryer, dishwasher, nice washer and dryer, and any other kitchen accessory you could need. The cart was awesome for making trips to the river and taking rides. Lots of fish and only saw a snake or two. Screened in porch was great and so was the view!
Cons - our first night we noticed a foul smell in the house coming from the throw pillows/blankets and couch. We found out the people who were there before us had had a stomach bug. Our whole family ended up with the stomach bug less than 48 hours after arriving. The stomach bug kept us from being able to enjoy the propert like we would have wanted to.
There are a LOT of little centipede type bugs crawling around in the house. You will want to wear shoes, especially the master bedroom and keep your luggage off the floor. We had several travel home with us.
Fantastic property to get away, enjoy nature and forget the world! However, close enough to enjoy the wonderful entertainment of Mountainview and go to store or restaurant if you choose.
We loved our stay. Perfect for a family stay. We saw the eagles nest and and eagle while there. We saw the deer and hummingbirds. The property golf cart was very useful to explore the huge 470 acres. We loved the White River and Rocky Bayou and the cayak, canoe and flatboat. It's a long drive on the gravel/dirt road to get there but well worth it.
Gorgeous house and gorgeous property! We really enjoyed our trip!! It was quite and peaceful and the house was stocked with everything we needed. There was plenty of room for 7 of us and our fur babies. The house is decorated beautifully and feels so homey. Would definitely recommend!
The house was absolutely beautiful. We loved sitting on the porch to watch the wildlife and overall Beauty. All the stay were super sweet and helpful. We will definitely be back.
Our group had an amazing time at this picturesque property! The hosts are very responsive and really went the extra mile to make our stay feel special. The home is well stocked for guests with comfortable beds and plenty of space to gather. The property is so beautiful and has many bonus amenities. Being able to swim and fish in the river was perfect for hot days. I am looking forward to our next visit. Would definitely recommend this property!
Excellent place. Doc, Kathy and Josh made our stay perfect.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Communication
Mostly it was great. There was miscommunication around the pet fee, which isn’t accurately disclosed in the listing and caused some issues. But the hosts were kind and Doc showed us around the property.
A beautiful, tranquil place to get away from everything.
The accommodations were stellar and hospitality over the top. The property managers were so friendly & helpful in every way made us feel right at home. Would highly recommend.
We were looking for a place that could handle 8-10 adults for a guys getaway. Everyone enjoyed staying at the place and having time to connect and relax. We spent a lot of time at the fire pit and had an overall great time. Such a beautiful place.
This place was beautiful! The house was clean and updated nicely. Enjoyed exploring the acreage and seeing all the fall colors! Definitely want to return and stay longer!
It was traveling to a beautiful place away from the hectic daily world in which we live. It’s peaceful and quite with a gorgeous view of Gods creation! It’s a little peace of heaven here on earth!
