A good stay. Comfortable rooms, they have a gift shop I’m the building that I really liked. Very easy to get travel memorabilia.

The hotel rooms were pretty decent and clean. We had 3 rooms, all with queen beds, the pullout sofa and a kitchenette. The mattresses are really hard. The hot tub did not have jets that worked. There were no pool towels. When we checked in, the guy at the front desk was not very friendly. He acted annoyed that he had to help us with 3 reservations. We stayed there one night. Definitely not going back. I would say it is worth the few extra miles to stay in Rapid City, especially in the off season.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 nights. Although breakfast area was clean and breakfast was adequate, all four mornings offered sausage as the meat and sugared donut holes as the pastry. A variety would have been nice.

Very nice property and very easy walk or drive to downtown Hill City. The hotel was redoing the parking lot to make it even nicer. Very clean rooms and nice breakfast area. I would definitely stay here again.

Centrally located, nice area. Very nice room, clean. Could use a little updating in bathroom. The AC didn’t work but fortunately we kept cool by opening the window. But otherwise a pleasant experience. We would recommend this property.

We were in a suite. It had plenty of room, comfortable beds, a very nice sitting area as well as a kitchen area with cupboards, a sink, microwave, and small refrigerator. The only change I would make would be a larger fridge. All in all a great stay. We had wonderful visits to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Crazy Horse, all quite close.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Golden in Spike, best Western in Hill city, South Dakota. We couldn’t have asked for better service or more congenial Customer service will definitely stay there again when we are in the area. Will recommend this facility to anyone we know is going to that area.

Towels were old, thin and worn and the sheets were not soft they had fuzz bumps all over them! The grout in the shower had moldy areas! Overall the rooms were clean. Breakfast buffet was great!

Easy on n off major highways to get where you want to go. Great breakfast and the employees were very attentive and courteous. Comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again should I visit the area.

Old hotel that needs updating. We stayed 3 nights and never got housekeeping. Refrigerator was either warm or froze all our food.
