Renovated farmhouse rural setting,1km from Co Meath village

10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at Glenboy! The house was big, roomy, and very comfortable for our group, with plenty of bathrooms, which was a huge plus. The location was great and gave us easy access to so many things to see and do within driving distance. What really made our stay special, though, was our host. They were absolutely phenomenal—always willing to help, quick to offer recommendations, and incredibly kind throughout our stay. They even went above and beyond to help us connect with and find members of our Irish family, which made our trip even more meaningful and memorable. We truly enjoyed our time at Glenboy and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious, comfortable place to stay while exploring this beautiful part of Ireland. We would happily stay here again!"

Delightful village retreat in the heart of Multyfarnham - 1 hour from Dublin

10/10 Excellent
"Una and Pat (and Poppy) are wonderful hosts and the cottage apartment is perfect. Comfortable, with every necessity provided. The location is 15 minutes to Mullingar - but when you're in Multy, why go anywhere else!? And do yourself a favor - eat every meal possible at the restaurant --- the food and service are top notch! I cannot wait to stay with the Weirs again."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Mostrim?
The best area to stay in Mostrim is generally the village centre, particularly around Main Street. This central area offers the most convenience and access to local amenities. Main Street is where you'll find a selection of local shops, pubs, and eateries, creating a pleasant village atmosphere. It's often the hub of activity, especially during local events. For those looking for a relaxed and convenient base, perhaps solo travellers or couples, staying centrally means everything is within easy walking distance. You'll be close to the local heritage centre and have simple access to public transport links if you plan to explore the wider County Longford. If you're after a slightly quieter experience but still want to be close to the action, look for accommodation just off Main Street, perhaps on one of the side roads.
When is the best time to go to Mostrim?
The best time to go to Mostrim is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is generally mild and there are more daylight hours.During this period, you can expect average temperatures ranging from 15°C to 20°C, making it pleasant for exploring the outdoors. The longer days mean you'll have more time to visit local attractions like the Corlea Trackway Visitor Centre or enjoy a stroll around the village. This time of year is particularly good for families, as the warmer weather allows for comfortable outdoor activities without the chill of other seasons. For those interested in local culture and events, late summer can be a good choice. While Mostrim itself is a quieter, rural village, nearby towns often host agricultural shows and festivals that provide a glimpse into Irish country life.
