"Great location - so close to everything we wanted on a family holiday, but being just one half block away from the main street it was nice and quiet. The heaterd pool was a winner. The accommodation (2bd 2 bathrooms) was great for our family of four. Kitchen we well stocked (loved the toasted sandwich maker and tupperware). "We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Sugar Shack; honestly the only downside was leaving! The hosts are very friendly and very responsive - we particularly appreciated the unexpected treat of bubbles and choccy on arrival! The location was amazing; very well-placed to easily explore the surrounding region, but also felt very secluded and close to nature. We loved our evening birdwatching sessions on the porch! I'm sure we'll be back next time we holiday up in FNQ!"

"We had a wonderful stay at Coco Beach Villa in Newell Beach. The host was responsive and easy to reach throughout our trip. The location is a great jumping-off point for day trips to the Daintree, Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge, and the Great Barrier Reef, while still feeling peaceful and away from it all. The beach is just meters from the house and beautiful to walk along, though no swimming given the possibility of crocodiles in the area. Enjoyed the pool and BBQ, and the beds and showers are very comfortable. Would happily stay again!"

"A Indonesian-style retreat about a 15 minute drive from Port Douglas with beautiful rainforest and coastal views from the communal dining room/terrace and pool (both areas are small but lovely to hang out at). We both preferred to stay out of PD and visit it rather than the other way around! Andre is a fantastic host, always on hand to help or provide advice on local activities and dining options (limited locally but there is a great Thai in Mossman at which you can dine in or takeaway and eat on the terrace at this property - Andre will provide plates and cutlery). Large bed with a beautiful canopy and a delicious fresh-fruit, yoghurt, and croissant/toast breakfast each morning. The steep drive way may surprise you when you first arrive but continue up for the fantastic views! Mossman Gorge, PD's crocodile viewing bridge and the Cape Tribulation drive are all must dos from Mai Tai."
