The Cottage is right on the river and connected to the park on the other side. Lots to do in Morpeth — Bagpipe Museum and Fannie’s Emporium Antique Centre are both worth a visit (bring a compass to Fannie’s so you don’t get lost in the warren of rooms). Great choices of food in town, or heat-up-at-home for MandS Food. Riverside Cottage is clean, well equipped, quiet, and comfortable. John is a great host — quick to respond to questions. The bedrooms are upstairs (a relatively steep stairs) but manageable for older folks like us. It is great to have two washrooms (one on each floor with bath/shower in the ground floor one). Beds are comfortable.
