A great place to stay - even on a wet weekend in February!
Ideal place for two couples in a comfortable and well appointed cottage, just a very short walk to a nice enough pub, with good food and a bar to watch the sport. Also just a short drive to the lovely towns of Moreton, Stow and Chipping Norton.
If I was to be fussy, a shower in the bathroom as well as downstairs would have been good and, although nice and clean, we could not help notice quite a few cobwebs, which I know can be a curse of cottage properties.
I would certainly return again but hopefully when the weather is a little better!

Top quality stay
This place was brilliant, when we arrived it was an immediate wow factor, it had the lovely cottagey feel but with a modern twist, everything you need is there, the welcome package is a lovely touch, the setting is great not far from all the main places, will not stop anywhere else on our next visit
5 star cottage, with lots of extra touches. Central to visit all that’s in the area.
Would recommend.

Perfect village location
This is our second visit to this cottage with its quiet village location and a pretty village pub 5 minutes walk. The cottage was absolutely spotless and has everything you need. Chipping Norton and Moreton in Marsh about 15 minute drive so plenty of tea rooms and pubs to choose from. Stunning walks from the door. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful cottage holiday
We thoroughly enjoyed our break away in the Cotswolds in Star Cottage. The cottage was very cosy and beautiful, clean and tidy and a great location for visiting the nearby villages and sights. We had all the information we needed for an enjoyable break. The red lion pub nearby was beautiful with great food and friendly staff and we would highly recommend this cottage to others in the future, and hopefully return there ourselves!

Memorable Stay at Cotswold
We enjoyed the stay at Star Cottage very much. The cottage was cosy and comfortable; and well equipped and stocked with everything we needed. In terms of location, the cottage was also easily accessible and we had no problems checking in on our own even though it was night-fall when we first arrived at the cottage. My family rated Star Cottage as the best accommodation in our recent trip to UK !

Great stay at charming cottage
Star cottage is a quintessential Cotswold cottage with bags of old world charm that has been sympathetically updated to cater for guests. The cottage offered good accommodation for two couples with excellent facilities.
The garden was private - excellent for relaxing.
Our stay was made very easy by having a good contact in Hannah who looked after us very well and left us a good starter pack.
We would be happy to return.

Already planning a return
This is by far one of the loveliest cottages we have stayed in. If you want somewhere in a quiet and pretty village, with walks from the door and village pubs nearby, this is the place to book. It has everything you will need and was spotless. We have nervous dogs and with the cottage being away from the road and a secure back garden it was ideal. Was reluctant to leave and will definitely be booking again. Lovely and helpful staff at Stay Cotswold.

Lovely Cottage
We have stayed at Star Cottage 3 times now. It’s always well equipped and beds are really comfortable. We always arrive to a welcome pack which is appreciated after a long journey.
The reason we stay there when we go to the Cotswolds is that it is in a good location and easy to get to different places we want to visit eg. Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Broadway, Burford.
Farmer’s Dog is a must, if you can manage to book!
We have discovered the Red Lion in Long Compton. Lovely food, lovely staff and lovely rooms!
The only negatives we have for Star Cottage is I found it not very clean in places. There were cobwebs in the kitchen, also in the bedroom next to the wardrobe. Also the windows and carpets could do with a clean. Still no bath mat. (I mentioned this last time we stayed).Bath is very slippery. Quite dangerous.
This, however will not deter us from staying again!!!

Beautiful cottage
Great location in quiet village for exploring Cotswolds. Well equipped and homely feel. Great set up for taking dog on holiday with partly tiled flooring downstairs. Could do with replacing stained rugs and a dehumidifier. We only used front garden which would benefit from removal of a couple of overmature trees and maintenance; previous guests had sadly not cleared up after their dogs in back garden so we didn't use it. Very cosy in the evening after day exploring and easy parking right outside.

Highly recommend Star Cottage
This cottage was everything we hoped for and more. Quintessential Cotswold look, the interior was styled perfectly, very homely feel and all the equipment in the kitchen that you’d need. Linen and towels were of high quality and there was even first aid kits. The garden needed a bit of weeding, but we spent some relaxing time out there watching Robins feeding their young only feet away. There were great walks nearby for us and the dog and the village was ideally situated for trips out. Hannah the agent responded to our enquiries before hand very swiftly.
All in all a great cottage and we hope to return again.

Amazing cottage shame about the damp
Thank you for a lovely stay at star cottage. It was in the perfect location to explore the Cotswolds and had lots of lovely charm and character.
I felt some soft furnishings needed replacing and the damp is a big problem. My toddler suffers from viral wheeze and I was concerned this could cause an issue. I hope this is helpful, honest feedback.
Best wishes
Jennifer
I spent a birthday long weekend at this beautiful house with my nan and daughter, and we were absolutely blown away. The house is stunning from the outside and tastefully decorated on the inside. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like keeping breakables out of reach of little hands.
The house was exceptionally well-stocked with all the essentials, and the surrounding area was peaceful and safe. The welcome book was incredibly informative—we ended up using several of the recommendations during our stay.
We felt so at home in the cottage that we were genuinely sad to leave. I hope we get the chance to return someday!

felt like “the holiday” cottage
We had the most amazing time at this cottage, we rented it to spend the new years with our friends and our kids and it was truly magical.
The cottage has absolutely everything you could possibly need, including a nice welcome food pack (milk, eggs and bread). It’s really close to a few cute villages including Broadway which is a must visit!
Hannah, the person I was in contact with was absolutely amazing, she was very responsive and nice, and even shipped me the blackout curtain I left behind!! If I could leave 8 stars I would ☺️

Lovely Comfy Cottage
This is our second time at Star Cottage and it was just as good as last time. Clean, well equipped and very comfortable beds. Goods night sleep for all our exploring!
Little Compton is an excellent base to visit all the Cotswolds towns and villages in the area. Also there are alot of NT properties in the area to visit.
The only negatives we had were the pressure in the bathroom taps. Water runs very slow. Also the bath is very slippery. Really needs a rubber bath mat to sit on when having a bath! That said these couple of things didn’t spoil our week there and we will be back soon!!!
A wonderful cosy cottage in an idyllic spot, just a short drive numerous locations. We got good communication prior to our visit with checkin info and local tourism advice. I'd have like to know more about what was at the property (e.g. shower gel etc.)Parking and check in easy enough. Front and back gardens both enclosed but not particularly grassy if your dog is toilet fussy!Whole house is well done and cosy. It did get chilly in the evenings so bring slippers and be prepared to light the fire. There is a small start supply for this. The bedrooms were cosy and beds comfy however. We were left all towels we needed and the kitchen was fairly well equipped. Milk, eggs, bread, and butter were even ready for our arrival which was wonderful. Coffee and sugar aplenty but not much tea. If you intend to cook, grab some oil so there was none available , but there were some seasonings in the cupboard. You can use the dishwasher and washer dryer and detergents are provided. There are no toiletries for the shower though. If a great shower is a necessity, this was not that. Hot water not a problem but a little weak. Of note, my tall other half did a very hard whack to the head as the ceilings upstairs are low, so be mindful of this.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Great location disappointing cleanliness and lack of window screens.
The cottage is very cute and quaint. Location is so nice because it is away from hustle and bustle of traffic but close to beautiful villages with shops and restaurants.
We had a some major disappointments. One was the cleanliness of the furniture in living room. They have old feather pillows with feathers poking out and my Aunt immediately got a rash on her back that went away fast after we removed the pillows and blankets on the couch. We love dogs and have them ourselves but they should have couch pillows and blankets that can be easily washed between stays.
Left over bleach from someone prior to our arrival RUIND pants just purchased from Harods in London that were expensive. My daughter loved them and now out 200 pounds.
Smell of detergent in towels and sheets is strong.
Last huge disappointment is we went in August and there are NO screens on windows so you can not sleep with the windows open so you are hot. If you left the window open spiders and insects came in. So even though evenings would have been cool enough if the windows were opened you were hot and humid inside.

Cotswold Trip
Star cottage was a quintessential Cotswold cottage. It was really cosy and very tastefully furnished. There was a really good selection of books and helpful local guides.
The kitchen had every thing needed and the location was very good.
We visited in the winter so we're unable to use the garden but could see it was well laid out and private.
