An amazing property with heaps of character and charm with wonderful hosts! We were an extended family and loved the expansive space and back yard with a pleasureful daily walk for the essentials.Located at the edge of a great small town but with plenty of unique experiences a short bike or drive away - an excellent guide provided by the hosts.We really enjoyed the Velorail experience in Dunieres, the Parc Family Adventure, and Chateau de Polignac amongst our week of stay.Highly recommend!

Location Le Chateau de la Bruyere en Velay

We had a lovely holiday with friends and family in this stay in the French Haute-Loire. The chateau is generous and comfortable and a great base from which to explore the local history, towns, villages and countryside. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly and super helpful.

Three families summer holiday

What a beautiful setting for a three family holiday. Le Chateau de La Bruyere en Velay is an idyllic setting - wonderfully renovated. Their attention to detail in the renovation is so impressive. The amenities are plentiful and well thought out. Swimming pool cleaning 3x in our week was lovely. Thank you for all your assistance in our event planing + assisting with translations prior to our stay. Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you all !

You never want to leave again!

We had an amazing stay in this beautifully restored and perfectly equipped mansion. The rooms are vibrant with colour and atmosphere. You find all the comfort from private Jacuzzi to outdoor pool. The large, well equipped kitchen provides for big family get together. Big rooms and several salons leave space for everyone. The area oversees beautiful green hills, Lyon and Saint Ettienne are close for day trips. The surrounding area is also stunning and interesting with lots to see and explore. We will come back.

Beautiful house and property

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay at the Chateau. Plenty of room for the whole family and friends, and the house was very clean and well appointed. The hosts were very responsive to questions, and helpful in providing info about nearby activities. The bed layout was customizable for the group(able to select full or double beds in most rooms), which was terrific in providing a comfortable stay for our large group (8 adults, 2 teens and 1 child). The village was a short walk from the house(5 mins), and we walked daily to the grocery, bakery and butcher shops. Most in the village do not speak english, but were very friendly and helpful. The property was beautiful and the pool was cleaned and enjoyed daily. Highly recommend a stay at Chateau de La Bruyere!

The house is full of character and charm — every corner told a story, and it was a privilege to be part of it, even for a short while.We are deeply grateful to our hosts for allowing us to live this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Your thoughtful preparation and attention to every detail made us feel not just welcome, but also at home.We had a wonderful time filled with imagination, elegance, and joy — from playing in the garden and swimming in the magical pool, to afternoons in the playhouse and evenings filled with music. One of our most treasured memories will be listening to our son playing the beautiful old piano.He will surely remember his days at the castle for the rest of his life. Amazing house

We had a perfect stay at the house. It is very well kitted out and had everything we needed. The pictures do not do it justice as each room was fantastic. Lots of space for everyone and the TV room upstairs and games room in the garden meant the adults had a very relaxing time.

Très belle demeure adaptée en tout point pour un séjour de grandes tablées . Tout est très bien entretenu . Le parc est très agréable , les chambres sont spacieuses , la literie excellente avec suffisamment de pièces d eau pour que tout le monde trouve son confort.Pour ne rien gâcher les hôtes sont vraiment accueillants et attentionnés.A recommander

Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus mit viel Atmosphäre, das sich wundervoll in die Landschaft einpasst und der Gruppe Raum lässt für gemeinsames Erleben oder entspannte Rückzugsmöglichkeiten. Die Gastgeber hatten tolle Empfehlungen für Ausflüge in dieses für uns bisher unbekannte Gebiet. Hier gibt es viel zu entdecken, wir kommen wieder!!

Erholsame Golftage im wunderschönen Château

Wir hatten wunderschöne Tage und sehr ruhige und erholsame Nächte im bezaubernden Château. Abends haben wir in der gemütlichen Küche, die mit allen modernen Geräten sehr gut ausgestattet ist, gekocht, geredet und die Zeit genossen. Tagsüber haben wir auf dem hervorragenden 18 Loch Golfplatz Le Chambon surLignion gespielt und die Ruhe auf dem Platz genossen. Der Platz bietet sehr schöne Ausblicke auf die Vulkane der Auvergne und liegt in 1000 m Höhe und ist sehr abwechslungsreiche.

Un week-end inoubliable

Tout était parfait, l'accueil, l'organisation, le lieu et l'équipement. Les chambres sont spacieuses et d'un confort sans pareil. Tout le monde peut profiter pleinement de son intimité. La cuisine est très agréable, et équipée pour les fins gourmets. La salle à manger est idéale pour pouvoir se rassembler autour d'un bon repas. Et le jardin... À découvrir absolument. Nous aurions adoré passer une semaine complète ici. Le contact avec les propiétaires était parfait. Aidants, agréables et organisés.

Au-delà de nos attentes...

Difficile de résumer en quelques mots notre séjour à la Bruyère... Nous sommes une famille avec 3 jeunes enfants et nous y avons retrouvé des familles amies. Nous avons l'habitude de voyager en famille, et nous avons eu la chance de séjourner dans ce cadre idyllique et parfaitement adapté aux jeunes enfants (et ça, c'est un vrai plus !!) : piscine sécurisée, de l'espace pour circuler sans se marcher dessus, une cuisine très bien pourvue, spacieuse, pratique, avec tout le matériel pour préparer des repas de famille nombreuse (il y a même un mixeur bébé et un coussin d'allaitement !!). Bref, de la vraie détente, des moments de convivialité dans un cadre magique. Un grand parc pour faire des cabanes, de la balançoire, des cache-caches, et des chambres royales pour se reposer. Sans oublier les balades tout autour, le calme de la campagne, tout en ayant à proximité les petits commerces et le centre du village. De beaux souvenirs pour petits et grands :) Et un immense merci aux propriétaires, aussi chaleureux que réactifs en cas de question/besoin !! On reviendra, et on transmettra cette perle !!

Excellent séjour en famille

La propriété et l’accueil ont été excellent. Notre famille a passé une très bonne semaine à Montfaucon, les enfants ont adoré le parc immense pour leurs jeux et la piscine. Le château permet à chacun de trouver sa place et d’avoir son indépendance. La région est superbe et regorge d’activités familiales.

Accueil Très Chaleureux par Martine et Christian Tout contribue à un séjour agréable, sympathique au Château de La Bruyère en Velay: -Literie, lingerie, vaisselle, tout est nickel -Intimité de chaque couple respectée avec des chambres spacieuses, des toilettes et sanitaires réservés à chacun -Salons confortables et conviviaux à l'étage et au rez de chaussée -Une salle de jeu où l'on peut s'entraîner au baby-foot et au ping-pong en cas de pluie -De bons conseils de visites, de la documentation sur la région; et il y a vraiment beaucoup à faire, de beaux villages à découvrir à pied, en vélo ou en voiture, au choix! Accueil chaleureux, Lieu Atypique, Agréable et confortable.

Nous recommandons cette location, y séjourner à plusieurs familles est idéal. Les espaces sont grands et permettent l 'intimité de tous. Ce lieu atypique mérite ses bonnes appréciations. De plus, les propriétaires vous accueillent chaleureusement et sont très disponibles. Rien ne manque et tout est réalisé avec goût. Encore bravo à eux deux.
