Beautiful rooms and area. Lovely and quiet. One note to mention, the beach across the road is not the crystal blue waters as the sand is dark. It’s also a busy area for fishing so we didn’t swim. There’s some nice restaurants within walking distance and a great grocery store.

We had a great stay at Tango Mar. The owner always greeted us each day to see how we were or how our day was. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious! I took advantage of the spa and had an incredible massage. Gorgeous views of the ocean right out your window and the multiple pools to cool off in with the heat. Swimming beaches were a short drive away if you wanted to swim in the ocean.

7.4/10 Good! (584 reviews)
Our stay at Barceló Playa Tambor was okay overall. We traveled with a group, so we joined the trip, but otherwise this would not have been my first choice.
I was pleasantly surprised to receive an ocean-view room, which was a nice upgrade. However, the room smelled stuffy, as if the windows hadn't been opened in a long time.
The food was average. It seemed like some of the menu items were repurposed into different dishes toward the end of our stay, which wasn't very appealing.
On our last night, I got sick and went to the front desk to request housekeeping because I needed my sheets changed. They told me someone would come, but no one ever showed up. That was very disappointing, especially when I wasn't feeling well.
The highlight of our stay was the service from the restaurant staff. The servers were friendly, attentive, and provided good service throughout our visit. The grounds are beautiful but need a bit more maintenance.
