This was a beautiful building in a beautiful location. Stunningly clean and well maintained. The only let-down was that whilst we were aware check-in was 16.30, we didn’t expect the gates to be locked when we arrived at 16.00. Quite why we couldn’t park in the car park and wait outside is beyond me. Instead we were expected to sit in the street outside. Once we were let in, our room wasn’t ready until 16.50. Otherwise, lovely and slept really well.

Ok this is a difficult review to write. Firstly, the Chateau itself is absolutely stunning. It has recently been renovated and the rooms, in particular the bathrooms are stunning. The grounds are lovely and the pool was just what we needed after a very long drive. The check-in time on our booking was 4.30pm but we ended up getting there an hourly early. Unfortunately the gates were locked and nobody would answer the bell until exactly 4.30pm. We spoke with some other guests who called and asked if they could use the pool while waiting (it was 95 degrees) but the answer was "non". OK fair enough, it's their house but it wasn't the best start. Then comes the difficult part of this review...the hosts. He is absolutely delightful, very friendly and smiley whereas she is quite the opposite. (There were 3 other couples staying and they all mentioned how curt/rude she had been.) Dinner wasn't available as we hadn't booked 48 hours in advance so we drove 10 mins to a nearby town and grabbed a take-away pizza which we ate in the beautiful gardens. The room (mid June) was very hot but we managed to get some sleep with the big windows open. Luckily it was windy so we didn't get bothered by bugs. Breakfast was nice although we did have to ask a couple of times for some essentials (Butter and milk) and we played rock, paper, scissors to see who would have to ask the owner for the same thing twice :) It's an absolutely stunning property but we won't return.

Sehr geschmackvoll restauriertes Chateau (Haus mit umgebendem Landbesitz) mit Wohlfühlatmosphäre. Ein Ort zum Bücherschreiben oder -lesen. Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Gutes Frühstück. Gäbe ich überall 5 Sterne, hätte ich fürs Sacher oder Vier Jahreszeiten nichts mehr übrig.

lovely chateau, super kind hosts. will visit again

I turned up a little late because Eurostar was delayed, but the hosts were very welcoming. I also had to leave early, before they woke but they were very kind and left some breakfast for me. I will stay again and enjoy the chateau more next time. Its a lovely place to stay and very safe if you have a car loaded full of things, as the court yard is walled with a gate.

Restful break in delightful surroundings

After a long day's drive we received a friendly greeting having being admitted through the large electronically controlled gates to the extensive grounds of the chateau. Our room was excellently furnished with a comfortable bed and had a superb bathroom en-suite. As this property does not offer restaurant service in the evening, the staff member assisted us to choose a nearby restaurant and made the booking for us. An excellent recommendation as it transpired. A very good buffet breakfast was made available in the morning in a lovely breakfast room and this set us up for another day's driving. We would have liked to stay longer but the itinerary did not allow this.

French Provencial retreat

The chateau and its vast grounds are stupendeous!! The room was lovely and very French Provencial - just like a walk in history. The owner is very accomodating, ensuring that all our needs were met and the breakfast was lovely! I would highly recommend staying here. This was our 1st night accommodation in France and it was perfect. I would come back again!

Countryside peace and quiet

We stayed 4 nights at Chateau, the experience was great: - Hotel (5rooms) is very clean and in perfect condition - Service met all our requests - We stayed at the pool for whole day and it was enjoyable (clean etc.) - The garden around is well kept and beautiful - Breakfast is sufficient and fresh - Wifi was working (8-10Mbps) Things to consider: - No air condition, but rooms tend to be cool - No dinner options by walking distance - No refrigerator in the room (they can store your champagne in the kitchen fridge...) Bottom line, we enjoyed the peace and quiet atmosphere and will definitely go again!
