Ideal to discover the region of CHIMAY, the Ardennes, the Thierarche, in a luxurious and warm space. This 18th century farmhouse is fully restored retaining its beautiful beams and stones of yesteryear. The rental located on the first floor includes 4 bedrooms each with private bathroom, a large living room with fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. A games room contains board games and books. All on 150m2. The garden of 30 ares is raised including a hundred year old chestnut tree. Outdoor games are available on site (bowling, badminton, petanque ...). Possibility to play petanque on the spot or in the village.
The outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the meadows, and heated all year round, is pure happiness!

Barbecue, south facing terrace, wifi, easy parking, open fire, private bathrooms, Nespresso, dishwasher, oven ... The network of slow lanes (The RAVEL) is 1,5km. Near nature (forest and river 1km, pond 2km). GR125 at 1km. It is possible to rent e-bikes at the tourist office.
Bakery 50 meters for excellent croissants in the morning and succulent pastries ... The neighbor offers his fresh eggs.
Many visits on the spot: castle of Chimay, Abbey of Scourmont, Lakes of the water of Hour, Lake Virelles ...

The owners did a beautiful job restoring this property. It is beautiful and very clean. The owners have a lovely collection of brochures about things to do in the area and a thorough binder of info with info about the house. We were there during a heat wave, and David promptly replied to my email about where to find a beach. That was very helpful! We didn’t see any checkout directions, so we did what we’ve known from staying at other properties. It is possible they were in Dutch and French somewhere. It is important to note that it is on a busy road, so traffic is loud. The property is advertised as having washer/dryer, but we were told when we arrived that it wasn’t available. We had been traveling already for a week and had planned on washing clothes, so that was disappointing. We were out of clean clothes so had to go do laundry. Seven of us stayed in the home and fit comfortably.

Lovely place was very clean in a beautiful setting.
Seven of us stayed here and had a great time we were on motorcycles and it was very central for all the places we wanted to visit. David the owner greeted us on the first day with a large bottle of chimay beer which went down very well. We payed the extra for the hot tub and it was well worth it relaxing at night was ace.The bbq was also used on many occasions. There was also a bakery over the road so we had fresh bread every morning. We enjoyed our stay so much I have provisionally booked it for our annual trip next year. Thank you so much David.

Verouderd meubilair met een paar zaken die stuk waren in het huis. Beperkt keuken gerief en materiaal. Geen wifi aanwezig, stond nochthans vermeld in de aankondiging. Correcte en vriendelijke communicatie met de eigenaar.

La météo ne nous a malheureusement pas permis de goutter aux extérieurs, pourtant prometteurs, de cette magnifique maison. (neige en Mai !!)..mais nous avons passé, au chaud, de ce fait, d'excellents moments de convivialité dans ce gite confortable, bien équipé, et d'un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Merci David (Propriétaire disponible a tout moment, souple, et pas envahissant...) pour les échanges en toute simplicité, et les bons conseils... Cordialement, Serge.

gezellige locatie
Eigenaar was ter plaatse ( naast de gite) en was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er zijn 3 ruime twee- persoonskamers met eigen badkamer, alleen jammer dat de vierde slaapkamer naar beneden moest voor het toilet. De gite is immers volledig op de bovenverdieping. Gezellige woonruimte, groot genoeg voor acht personen. Luxe dat bad- en bedlinnen aanwezig is, voldoende borden en bestek, mooie wandelingen in de omgeving, een aanrader!
