Walk at night is also kinda sketchy. Ofc bumpy road and lack of lighting on the street are the city issue, but the location isn't the best I would say."

The location is extremely convenient, being close to Shizuoka Station and making it easy to get around. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Everything was well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Shizuoka. Highly recommended!"

"I recently stayed at Shizuoka Town Hotel for about a week in July-August 2026. Though I was satisfied with my stay, there were some minor drawbacks that affected my experience. The reception and housekeeping staff team were generally professional and welcoming, and kept my room, the lobby, and the breakfast area in a clean, uncluttered state. The signage and instructions on check-in/check-out and amenities were also easy to understand. The provided daily breakfast is basic, but works well for the price. The location has ready access to JR Shizuoka and Shin-Shizuoka station via a nearby underground walkway, which I appreciated. It is also close to the historic Sumpu Castle, which is an important local landmark for sightseeing. However, the nightlife-heavy neighbourhood is a downside for me, which I should have looked up on Street View before deciding to book. For those like me who are not interested in nightlife, there are other comparable hotels closer to JR Shizuoka or Shin-Shinzuoka station that may be a better fit. Overally, this is a decent hotel for the price. I would recommend it for a budget solo traveller considering a stay in central Shizuoka with easy access to JR and local rail transport."

"Living in a whole house. Huge space for visitors Traditional Japanese pajamas is provided. Nice to experience traditional Japanese living. Great breakfast! Its workers come to your house and make breakfast in front of you. Never imagine in past. Free hot spring close by. Friendly employees Quiet neighborhood with small bars and restaurants There is a Japanese restaurant in walking distance called 武島料理店Takeshima Ryori Ten. Highly recommended Please be alerted: 1) please count any child over 12 as adult. If not, an extra charge will be applied. 2) There is a 10 minutes walk from local train station. It is easy in normal situation, but not to carry baggage in the rain. In general speaking, I still highly recommend this hotel."
