I would -\*highly\* recommend a couple of nights here on your East Coast travels and certainly better than staying in Mission Beach which is full of construction. Despite being so remote, the prices at the cafe are very reasonable and the food and drinks are great quality. Spacious rooms, lovely communal areas, good bathrooms. Far from Mission Beach and up in the middle of no where, half an hours walk to the nearest anything and then further if you actually want to go to a beach. The facilities were very clean and looking like brand new. The people were amazing. The receptionist Amir was very helpful and welcoming. All of the volunteers work hard and make you feel like family. I was able to join in a lovely yoga class. There is a free shuttle that takes you all over Mission Beach and the driver Steven is really nice. I feel like I got such a great value for the money I paid. While you're in the hostel you get this beautiful view of the rainforest. I was just so happy and relaxed the entire time. Only major thing was the noise - rooms and the common room are on the same floor, so music playing most of the night and you can hear peoples conversations.
