A little piece of heaven
Could not have asked for a more splendid experience!!! Great hosts!! The quaintness of this little cabin is truly surreal!!! Rustic but yet has all the conveniences you need. I’m a stickler for having hot water and this cabin has great hot water. The lodge across the street is a must see. Sitting in front of the fireplace And enjoying good food on a cool Spring evening. Everyone should experience this little piece of heaven tucked away in the Sequoia National Forest.

Get Away
The place was nice and was what we were looking for, a place away from it all. Place could use some TLC as there where many things broken or not working and there is an active bumble bee hive outside the house.

For all perspective guest reading this review. There are Not many things broken or Not working, what this post guest is writing about. I have no idea. There are some bees and when they appear we have them taken care of. This cabin looks just like the pictures.

Lovely Little Get Away
My partner and I rented this cabin for a quick get away weekend to celebrate our anniversary. It was the perfect little space for us - enough room with everything we needed and so close to the parks! The cabin is old, but has so much character/charm and was clean and well stocked. Melanie was very helpful with check-in information and the people at the bar across the street were welcoming when we popped in for dinner one night. Overall, a wonderful weekend and lovely little get away!

Awesome remote cabin
We loved staying at the kitschy cabin in Pinehurst. The only drawback was that it is a very, very curvy long drive to get to “civilization” and the restaurant across the street (which is so wonderful!) was closed two of the three nights we were there—had we known ahead of time we could have adjusted our schedule/purchases on the way in rather than being surprised when we arrived. This is not really anyone’s fault, just a consideration.

Honeymoon
My wife and I st stayed here for a trip to Sequoia NP. This is a rustic historic cabin and maintained to not change this historic nature. We enjoyed our stay and the owners were quite helpful and flexible. Some basic food items were already there, but you should do your grocery shopping in one of the cities on your way in. For city folks - mountain roads are not for the faint of heart so plan ahead so you can avoid night driving. Great setting and close to the park entrance.

Cute mountain cabin
Great location to visit King’s Canyon National park. Wonderful restaurant right across the street. Really cute decor and rustic mountain ambiance. Cabin had very little space to bring in personal items. The lights were not working in the bedroom so hard to maneuver. Overall I would recommend.

Charming Cabin!
We enjoyed our short stay here for the weekend. Loved the antique decor and the Christmassy vibe it has. When trying to get in, the lock box says to open the center door but when you open the center door at first it says “do not use this door” so it was a bit confusing. It’s the left center door not the right. Other than that, it was a good stay.

Too Rustic for us!!!
This cabin was too rustic for us. For starters, the front door DID NOT LOCK!!! We returned from a day in the park to discover that the front door was open, even though the dead bolt was in the locked position! The owner came during the day to drop off some toilet paper (there was only half a roll in the cabin!) leaving the locked door open! The hole drilled for the dead bolt was so big and so worn that it could not keep the door closed let alone locked! This needs to be fixed! Also the lock box was very hard to open. The owner should invest in a new lock box. And the bedroom is very small and has no functioning window. Despite being cool outside, the bedroom was very stuffy. The bedroom really needs a ceiling fan and an overhead light that works. The chairs in the dining room, the only table to eat at, are totally worn out, with no support on the seats. They were painful to sit on. These chairs need to be replaced. The cabin should be better stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. And last but not least, there was no functioning TV in the cabin even though the tavern across the street had a working TV so we were not that much in the outback. But on the plus side, the cabin is a 20 minute drive from Grant's Grove in King's Canyon National Park. We enjoyed the close proximity to the park. With a little investment, this cabin could be a gem but it needs some upgrades.

Hi Karen The front door DOES lock. When the owner dropped off the toilet paper the front door was open. So, he left it the same way he found it not knowing why it was left open or if the guest had the keys. But, because it was left open he checked all the locks on front door to make sure all 3 locks were functioning properly. The booking site states the TV is for DVD's only. The lockbox does work and there are instructions to follow. There are extra fans in the cabin that can be used if you feel a room is stuffy. When the cleaning person arrived to clean after guest departure the front door was left unlocked. Thank you for taking the time to submit this review. We take every review seriously and consider all that is said.

The cabin was full of personality and charm with tons of mountain decor, a claw-footed bathtub, and stacks of board games. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of items. We were pleased at how close it was to the entrance of Sequoia Natl Park. It was right across the street from a fun lodge that drew locals for food and karaoke. The bed was a double, smaller than we preferred, but we made it work.

We were very happy with the property with the exception of the bathroom and kitchen.. they definitely need work, especially at the price of this rental. Great for the one night stay, I would probably not want to stay much longer without improvements in the above mentioned areas. Overall , the charm of the place makes it a worthwhile accommodation in my opinion.

Great location as it is 25 mins drive from National Park. Quaint cabin and very much with character. As I shared with the owners, the downside is that toilet/bath looks tired, it could do with an upgrade. The kitchen sink also could be upgraded. Besides that the Cabin is a great place for a short stay.

Authentic Mountain Life!
If you want to step back in time, and still have modern conveniences, this is the place for you. Nearly as close as you can get to the entrance to Kings Canyon NP, this quaint 1912 cabin has it for you, even a clawfoot tub to soak after a day of hiking. We return every year because we love the place and the proprietors are wonderful. There is a lodge across the street that has amazing tacos for that night you don't want to cook. It is our home away from home! Also, if you have more than 2 people, you can book a second bunkhouse called the COZY for extra sleeping arrangements. love, love, love.

This property is adorable, cozy, and charming. Owners put great thought into this property and it’s lovely. I recommend approaching from Highway 180, less twisty.

Great location
This property is convenient to kings canyon/sequoia and we enjoyed the parks. The cabin was very dark and we did not have adequate lighting without the use of a flashlight at times. The cabin had a antique tub and handheld shower with nowhere that we were able to hang it to shower without holding the wand which was a bit difficult. The location of the restarting just across the street was great as there were no other options nearby. Overall an adequate place to stay.

The cabin is very cute and has all the necessities. The only issues were the wifi bandwidth is very low so while wifi calling, it cuts out alot. You can only do one thing at a time due to bandwidth. Also, there was cobwebs and dust all over the decor items, particularly near the ceiling. There is a mouse trap under the kitchen sink and there was 2 mice on it during our stay. The mice were dried out so they were there for a very long time. Cleanliness was an issue.

Lovely old cabin full of character
The cabin was built in 1925 and the owners have kept the interior in this period. If you like luxury modern accommodation you may not like it, but we loved it. As temperatures can be extreme, it’s good there are fans and an AC and also plenty of heaters and extra blankets. The bar over the road serves great food. The cabin is close to Kings Canyon. It was an excellent choice for our visit.

Absolutely fantastic location for KNP and SNP - this cabin had what we needed (we aren’t tent camping people) to give us a great place to rest, relax, eat, and shower between our National park visits. The owners were helpful with our questions about the area and they had a lovely little property. They made the cabin feel like a little home. Wished there was a little more silverware - (like more than one knife) - but again - it was a perfect place for what we needed.

A bit disappointing
A property with character and charm, but too rough around the edges. The tv was only for dvds, no normal programming, there was no hot tub or pool as listed by vrbo, lighting was very poor, spiders and dust abounded, and while the property is remote, that does not mean secluded. Our neighbors were quite close.

We work very hard to keep the cabin clean and spider free. There is one house on each side of the cabin and the lodge across the street where you can enjoy food and beverages This rating is very undeserved for our guest frequently give us 5 star reviews and the guest book in the cabin is full of great writeups. Close to Kings Canyon, good size, kitsch if you like that. Some good extras like games and wi-fi. However the property is filthy and the no cleaning fee means that it is never cleaned Mould in the fridge, rodent droppings in the kitchen, cobwebs and spiders everywhere. We used our own utensils as cabin stuff was just thrown in a plastic container. Very poor value.

Very cozy cabin
We had a great time at the cabin except for two things. First it needs more air conditioning for us city folks than 1 window unit in the bedroom to cool the whole place. It was hot!!! Second as i have read in the previous reviews the shower head needs to be mounted and not hand held. But overall its a cute little place across the street from a really good bar/restaurant. I had coffee on the back porch and it was amazingly peaceful.

We loved this cute, old, little cottage! It had personality at every corner. The games, books, and kitchen supplies made it feel like home ❤️ It was a little warm when we got there, and it took a bit to figure out how to make windows stay open (old cabin, remember), but once we got them open and the fan on, it quickly cooled off. Everything that mattered was perfectly clean; the 4-star for cleanliness was because there were dusty corners, like you might find at any house that wasn’t professionally clean. We are from far away, so I can’t imagine that we’d ever be back. But if we were in the area, we’d definitely stay here again!

Great property, all the old touches in the cabin made it a cozy adventure. Great claw foot tub and comfy bed. Unfortunately cell phone service made it impossible to read an online map so I would have brought an actual map with me if I had known. I had to stop several times for directions. Also I would have brought groceries with me as there is not a real grocery store anywhere near the cabin. Nice curvy short drive to the entrance to King's Canyon Park- about 20 minutes, very handy.

The cabin is cozy. The location is convenient to kings canyon and sequoia national parks. There's a bar across the street, it's convenient for dining since the area doesn't have that many food options. But the bar can get lively at midnight, so that can be good or bad depending on your preference. The shower is quite small if you are tall or big. To prevent having live animals' appear in the cabin, since the cabin is in the woods, you need to put food in a closed container and fridge, both are provided by the host. We had an issue regarding the appearance of a small animal at the cabin the first night of our stay and decided to switch lodging. We called Vrbo customer service regarding refunding the remainder of the reservation at the cabin, but they were not efficient nor helpful. We subsequently spoke with the host who was a bit confrontational and not very apologetic, but did refund the rest of our stay.
