Loved staying here
We were so impressed with this house. So much room to spread out. Comfy spaces and beds. And so many extra special touches that made our stay here memorable. Prime location for skiing, as it’s walking distance right across the road and parking lot. Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Great ski week
This is a great property. Excellent location across the street from Afton Alps ski area. Very nice house with a lot of room and a great kitchen. The host does some really nice extras that you don’t see everywhere. There was a bottle of wine and some great chocolate set up for us when we walked in. Other nice features are the nice kitchen that has everything you need ( coffee is even supplied). You have the use of the laundry if you have an extended stay, and you can use the garage too. We had a great week of skiing in spite of the warm weather. We enjoyed the deck a couple of afternoons. There is a state park about a half mile away. Looks like they have some good trails for biking or hiking. We liked it so much we booked again.

Holiday Dream Come True
It's a glorious place for large family gatherings. My family, and I stayed for New Years Eve. It was such a spacious well decorated home. They even decorated the home with Christmas trees in both living rooms, there were garland on the fire place and even twinkle lights in one of the bedrooms. You could really see the effort that was put in to make it feel like a cozy place that oozed the holiday spirit!

Cozy and perfect location
This is a great place to stay during ski season: Afton Alps is just 5 minutes away and if you have your own skis and get a lift ticket, you can walk across the road and ski down. The house was very well-decorated for the holidays and our family enjoyed the cozy feel of all the Christmas lights and the two gas fireplaces. There was a lifetime supply of cocoa and coffee K-cups, which we made frequent use of. There is a big yard around the house and Afton State Park is a 2-minute drive away and offers plenty of great views of the river and good dog-walking space.

Lovely home and close to nature
I travel to Woodbury often to visit with family and greatly appreciate the availability of this lovely home. It is close to many parks and walking trails. I plan on visiting again soon with my husband.

Lovely Property
We traveled to this vicinity in hopes of a fall leaf color experience, and to re visit some of the wonderful communities along the Mississippi and St Croix rivers. The trees were not very colorful, but we had a great time visiting the shops and people along the rivers. The home in Afton was a convenient central location. The property was secluded and very private, and even gave us some wildlife viewing opportunities. We enjoyed the amenities of the house, and were especially impressed with the cleanliness of the house. 5 Stars!

Very Relaxing
Loved this property! It is a lovely home, and a great location especially if you like hiking. Also, a quick drive to a lot of the area from Woodbury to Hastings to Stillwater to St. Paul. We visit Woodbury often to see family and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet location. I read a review regarding the air conditioning not cooling the bedrooms. We did not have this experience and were quite comfortable during the heatwave. However, I did not notice the back thermostat until one of my last days and wonder if this might not have been noticed by the previous guests (?).

We really enjoyed the tranquility of the back deck. There are multiple air conditioners in such a large house and the back bedrooms didn't really cool down but other than that we really enjoyed the site.

Thanks for the review. Not sure what temp the back rooms were at, but when I went to clean after your departure the thermostat outside the bedroom said current temp was 69. Perfect Year-Round Retreat
This homey retreat is located across the street from Afton Alps ski slopes and Afton State Park, offering year-round recreation. But you don't need to leave the home's property to appreciate the beauty of the area; the grounds of this home are impeccably groomed with mature trees, grassy play areas, and gorgeous plantings. Since we were there for June and July, we made good use of the great decks of the home's backyard, with dining and relaxing areas. The children loved the backyard fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The home is quaint and rustic. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and the kitchen had good appliances and equipment, all things we look for in a home. There are two dining areas, each seating six. In addition, there are two sitting areas; the smaller one with big bay windows was used for reading, the larger one has the TV and a nice game table with many table games on the shelves to play. There's even a piano, if any of us had known how to play. The family that owns the home was fantastic to work with. They kept up the grounds and warned us when they were coming so it didn't interfere with what we were doing. When the garage door opener didn't work all of a sudden, they immediately came out and replaced it. I highly recommend this home to friends and family. We would look to rent this home every summer, except that we enjoyed ourselves so much, we bought a home nearby and are moving back to Minnesota.

Perfect Spot for Fun and Family
We enjoyed Amy's property immensely! All but one person in our family loves to ski and this property was the perfect spot for everyone. My wife could stay at the house and "hold down the fort" while kids came and went throughout the day. If someone needed a break or a snack, they could just go up a lift and across the road to enjoy the fireplace, snacks, tv, etc. No need to find a spot in the lodge to get comfy; we had a whole house. Amy made sure that everything was perfect too. The kitchen is large and well-equipped. There was even a griddle for pancakes in the morning! There were multiple areas to sit at a table to eat and play games as well as comfy rooms for lounging and watching TV. The bedroom layout was fantastic (the beds were super comfy) and made everyone really feel like they had their own space in the evenings. Every detail was thought out from furnishing/decor to guest comfort. I loved that there were even toiletries if we forgot those. It was the best of a hotel perfectly merged with all the perks of a Vrbo. We had a great time and I really appreciated all Amy did for us. She was even sick when we arrived but still made sure we were taken care of. Everything was super clean, well stocked, and Amy was always easy to get ahold of for questions. I would have to say this was one of our top Vrbo stays ever and when we come up to ski again, you can bet we will rebook!

Cozy home right next to Afton Alps
Wonderful place. Plenty of space for our family of four and also cozy. Owner did a great job decorating the house for the holidays and shoveling snow so it was easy to get in and out. Perhaps the most notable feature of this VRBO is that you are about 500 feet from a ski lift down to the Afton Alps lodge. Our boys used the lift to come up the hill, walk to the house to have lunch, and then go back onto the slopes. If you need to rent skis, you’ll need to drive down the hill first, but that’s only 5 minutes. The skiing was great when we were there over Christmas: very short lines. House itself had laundry in the basement and two fantastic gas fireplaces, each opening on a cozy living area. The larger living room has a TV (connects to Netflix, etc.), couch, couple of comfy chairs, and a table where you could play games. Smaller living room has a couch and recliner, perfect for reading. BIG kitchen with nice appliances. Master BR got a little chilly at night (it was -20 while we were there) but there are plenty of blankets. Other BR were warmer and at least one had an electric fireplace. Generous supply of K-cup coffee and popcorn. Beautiful view both front (ski resort) and back (wooded hill) and felt private. Overall a fantastic place, especially if you have skiers.

Holiday Trip
A beautiful and serene piece of property set In a cozy home with Christmas decor. Perfect place for us to relax and enjoy after a full couple of days with family celebrating the holiday season. Fall Getaway
We so enjoyed our time at this house. It was comfortable, clean, and loads of space to spread out. The property had beautiful views. It is right next to a state park with great hiking trails, along the St. Croix River. The kitchen was well equipped for our cooking group! Our dogs had plenty of yard to run in and were eager to walk the hiking trails also. The beds were very comfortable, as was the bedding. Very peaceful setting. Loved the rustic furnishings and fireplace! We are going to return again next year!

First impression leads to lasting impression
As soon as we drove up the drive, we knew we were going to love being there! Cheerful garden flowers made the views looking in or out of the big picture windows lovely. I have missed this part of the country so much that I felt as though the beautiful, mature birch trees in the spacious front yard were singing to me to come back outside and enjoy a nap under their canopy later on (which I made time to do). But there was so much yet to explore. There was a lovely mix of feeling secluded, being nestled in between an expansive front yard and the privacy of the woods in back, with deer passing through several times each day; but since we saw the occasional car drive by, we didn't feel completely isolated. The back yard and patios were very private and comfortable where the sounds of nature were soothing. We appreciated all the amenities provided...hot tub, several levels of decking with flowering baskets and seating options, Adirondack styled chairs encircling the backyard fire pit (that I'd like to come back and enjoy someday), a private, meditative nook for quiet privacy, and there was also laundry facilities provided. The kitchen was so clean, comfortable and outfitted with everything we needed, along with thoughtful touches that made us smile. Arriving later in the day, we didn't stop at a grocery store, but no worries...there was not only tasty goodies to nosh on in the fridge, but there were wrapped chocolates in a bowl next to a bottle of wine and fixings for a spaghetti dinner. There's nothing better than that to welcome weary travelers, unless it's seeing and feeling that every room was spotlessly cleaned. It was just the two of us, but it would totally accommodate our family or group of friends because there was plenty of room to spread out and have fun. We would love to return again and bring our family.

Nice 'getaway' stay
Amy was a wonderful host - answered all of my questions and even referred us to a grocery store while we were en route! The property is spacious and is in a beautiful location - walking distance to the entrance of Afton State Park, and a quick 10 minute drive (if that) into cute downtown Afton (we recommend the wine club/Current!).

A Beautiful Relaxing Stay
We were waiting for our new home, and needed a place to stay. We are new to the area, so we didn't know what to expect. We loved it. What a great location! We could walk on to the state park with the dogs for a hike. There is a river beach in the park as well. This would also be a great location during the winter since it abuts Afton Alps. The home itself was comfy and clean, and had everything we needed. We grilled and ate out on the deck in the evenings. We would definitely stay again!

Week getaway
The house is a great layout for a family with little ones. The kids could be put to bed while the adults stayed up and played games without waking the kids. The only down side, is most of the door handles are not knobs, so young children could open doors. The owners were VERY easy to talk to and made the stay great. They answered all our questions and accommodated all of our needs. The house is very clean and has everything you need. It’s within walking distance to the Afton Alps and overall was a fantastic week. I would definitely stay here again. The house is pretty secluded other than 1 neighbor who was very nice and didn’t interrupt any of the family events. The yard is huge and had plenty of room for kids to play. I would definitely recommend the property.

Great Place too Stay to be within Driving Distance of Everthing
This property was amazing, for 2 Families (3 Kids under 5 and 4 adults), we visited during the summer and the yard was beautiful and well shaded, while the place is more geared towards the winter season. there is plenty of things to do in the vicinity regardless of the season (all within 30 min drive).

Relaxing Weekend Retreat
Such a beautiful home with so much space! Our group felt at home and very comfortable. Our host Amy was readily available to us with any questions and even accommodated our separate flight schedules out with an extended checkout, it was so helpful! The beautiful deck and fire-pit received plenty of use. We would have used the grill if we had been able to stay longer and really wished it could have been longer! Thanks again Amy!

Fun Ski Stay
Had to cancel our Breckenridge trip, but our Epic Passes worked at Afton Alps Ski. So rented Amy’s house for 3 nights and it was perfect for us and our kids. Plenty of room and walking distance to one of the 17 ski lifts! We had a great time!! Jason B

Perfect location
The house and location were perfect. We had 3 adults and 3 boys ranging 10-14. The proximity to the slopes gave us the freedom to come and go very easily.

Very nice location
Very nice location and owner was very receptive to asking to leave off comforters for my daughters allergies. The bedrooms were quite cold at night with doors closed, so bring warm pajamas for all! Overall great stay though.
