"All the Staff were superb - bar staff knew their cocktails! Reception staff also excellent … gentleman and a sense of humour! Restaurant staff efficient and food delicious at breakfast and dinner. I recommend the eggs florentine at breakfast - then the risotto or the trout ! Rooms were fab - loved the decor and drinks. Great touch’s with the sloe gin, water, the best tea & coffee too. The cow shed for the bathroom I very much liked. Nice sheets and bedding - all comfy and good quality. My only recommendations would be for my room only - as my mum’s room was fine -is to give some tlc to the shower grout, room skirtings, window blinds. Other than that I had an excellent stay."

The hotel is right in the centre of town and there's a great Nepalese restaurant a few doors along plus a good choice of High Street / Town Centre pubs. My room was beside the main road (the old A4 through the centre of Newbury) but I had no disturbance at all on having a lie-in on a Saturday morning, despite the single glazing. Would definitely stay again."
