About this property
Rocks District Wine Country Cottage, Fire Pit, Orchard Views, Southside Wineries
- Vineyards on one side. Orchards on the other. A fire crackling in the backyard, wine poured, and nowhere your group needs to be until tomorrow’s tasting room opens.
The Cottage in the Rocks is a fully renovated home sitting inside the Rocks District AVA, one of America’s most celebrated wine appellations. Ancient basalt soils, working orchards, and some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest Syrahs and Cabernets surround this property. You are not near wine country. You are in it.
This is the home base your group has been looking for. No hotel breakfasts. No driving back after dark. No splitting up across two rooms in a building full of strangers. Just one beautiful house, surrounded by vineyards, with enough space for everyone to breathe.
THE HOME
Four private bedrooms. Two full bathrooms. Please note there are a few entry steps at both the front and back doors to reach the main level. Once inside, the home is entirely single-level with no interior stairs, making it easy to navigate for guests of all ages and mobility levels. The whole group under one roof, with room to gather and room to disappear.
Every bedroom is dressed in high-end linens, luxury mattresses, blackout blinds, extra pillows and blankets, clothing storage, and hangers. Everyone sleeps well. Nobody shares a bed they did not plan to share.
The fourth bedroom is a comfortable bonus space with a king bed and its own window AC unit and space heater with remote, giving that room independent climate control no matter the season.
LIVING ROOM
A large sectional sofa, indoor fireplace with an efficient fan, vinyl record player, board games, and a TV built for movie nights with a retro DVD player. This room was designed for the kind of afternoon that starts at two and ends at midnight.
One insider note about the fireplace: it heats the living space so efficiently that the central heating will cycle off when the room warms up, which can leave bedrooms cooler than expected. Adjust bedroom doors or use the space heaters as needed. It is a good problem to have.
KITCHEN AND DINING
This is a real kitchen, not a vacation kitchen. Full-size refrigerator, electric stove, oven, dishwasher, marble island, coffee bar with a selection of coffees and syrups, blender, baking sheets, barbecue utensils, wine glasses, and every tool your group needs to cook a proper dinner between winery stops. The dining table seats everyone under a statement chandelier overlooking the yard.
Step outside to the herb garden planted along the property line where the yard meets the vineyard. Fresh herbs are yours to pick and use in your cooking. Take what you need and leave enough for the guests who come after you.
The copper cocktail bar kit and wine rack are not decorative. They are there for your group’s arrival toast and every evening that follows.
SUN PORCH
An enclosed porch with a daybed and rocking chair. The best seat in the house for morning coffee, birdwatching, and doing absolutely nothing. The porch is not heated or air conditioned but comes with an efficient space heater and remote so you can take the chill off on cool mornings without giving up your view.
THE BACKYARD
This is where groups fall in love with this property.
A fire pit patio with seating for everyone. A hammock strung under a mature shade tree with vineyard rows directly behind the fence. A full BBQ grill with utensils and charcoal. An outdoor dining area. Lawn games including cornhole. Orchard views in every direction. The kind of backyard that turns a trip into a memory.
We provide one Duraflame log per stay to get your first fire going. For multiple nights around the fire pit, grab extra firewood at Andy’s Market about 8 minutes away.
PROPERTY NOTES
The cottage runs on well water. Your drinking water is fresh, clean, and comes straight from the tap. The property is on a septic system, so please put food waste in the trash rather than the drain and flush only toilet paper. This keeps everything running perfectly for your stay and every group after you.
Exterior security cameras are active on the outside of the property during all stays for the safety and security of guests and the home. There are no cameras inside.
LOCATION
