"The room was lovely and warm, clean and modern . A nice welcome on arrival and the staff seemed well trained and polite. The food was adequate but not great if you’re looking for something special . Very usefully , half portions offered on some meals if you don’t want a huge helping. Perfectly fine for me just passing through."

"Must have been given the worst room in the property overlooking a wall and air conditioning units at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the restaurant awful “view”, and noisy. Have to book to use the spa which i did on arrival only to be told when i went there that there is a £25 fee per person per day to use it, even if you just want the pool! Needless to say facility was not used but they still tried to bill me saying there was a cancellation fee and a manager will have to agree not to charge….Discussed with receptionist who says all third party booking sites mention there is a fee and upon trawling the site this can be found in fees and policies. Level of advertising the spa facility on the site and not to mention the fee is akin to the hiding of commission in the car finance scandal, it’s mentioned, but only if you go searching. No guest directory or room service menu in room. Mentioned to receptionist who says she would order room service for me. Had to point out again I had no menu. Provided with menu so back to room to choose. Tried to order from room, phone not working. Back to reception who placed the order. Food overpriced and when came to check out have been overcharged for the price that was on the menu but was too incensed by being charged for the spa paid & left. Room cup chipped. Breakfast, 1st day eggs benedict, disappointment continued. 3rd day Scottish breakfast, lovely. Yipee! Restaurant staff lovely & a nice view. Good towels, nice shower."

"The friendliness of the staff is top-notch and everywhere is so clean. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because there was a lack of vegan awareness. Although my meal on the first night was tasty it didn't include any protein. There were no vegan wines available but they kindly let me bring some vegan wine I had in the car in to have with my meal. They certainly made up for this by providing avocado, oat milk and a vegan yoghurt for breakfast - this effort was really appreciated. Thank you."
