It is on a main road but very quiet at the back. It has a permanent awning covering the patio and secure out buildings if you wish to store bikes or kayaks. There is a public car park nearby which guests should use. You can access the back garden directly from the car park via the green gate. The western side of the Park is not so busy as other parts but is is still easy to get to Coniston, Windermere and Wast Water. Nearby Ravenglass has a minature railway that takes walkers from the coast up to Eskdale Green and on to Boot Station. We managed to explore the lakes, beach and some beautiful towns from here, there are also lots of walks and local beauty spots, the village itself doesn’t have anything in it only a cafe and village store but if your coming for a break away then a perfect base shut off from the world,, Hugh was great at communicating throughout the trip.. ##### Jeanette S. Had loads of stuff there to use the kitchen to its full potential. Was lovely and warm and everyone had plenty of space in the accommodation. The house is spacious and cozy at the same time. its clean and had everything we needed, loads of fridge and freezer space and washing machine and dryer. spent plenty time and the big back garden. we stayed for a full week, and was able to go on trips within an hours drive. there is a big new play area, 2 min walk from the house near the store. its brilliant for age 3 and up. the store has everything you need and the cashier was very helpful, which is great bc even though you're in the country side you still have a good shop 60seconds away. we slept really well the beds are comfy. ##### rosalind h.
