Perfect for peace and tranquillity the area is ideal for those seeking an escape from city living. Enjoy leisurely strolls along the promenades, take the La'al Ratty railway from Ravenglass to Eskdale where you can take a walk to Stanley Ghyll Waterfall, or explore nearby Muncaster Castle and Gardens with Owl and Hawk centre. The quieter country roads are perfect for cycling or horse riding and the Lake District offers numerous water sport activities within a short drive as well as walks for all abilities on the fells. Sledbank Cottage In The Hill is a luxurious home from home where traditional features effortlessly combine with modern day living. This was more than a home from home, offering some real luxury from the cosy blankets on the sofa to the slippers and robes in the bathroom. Everything about the design of this cottage has been thought through in detail and has all you could want for a place to relax in whatever the weather. The addition of the hot tub was very welcome after a day of walking in the Lakes - a great way to ease the muscles! The courtyard is a real sun trap too. There are some lovely walks on the doorstep - Black Combe and the England Coast Path, and numerous walks within a short drive - the Duddon Valley and Wastwater. The nearby Miners Arms, about a 15 min walk away, is a friendly place for a pint or two.
