This scenic year-round highway is the dividing line of the Cascade and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges. The house is about three hours from Sacramento - 4 hours from the S.F. Bay Area, between Lassen Park and Chester (about 12 miles to Lake Almanor, about 22 miles to Lassen Park, some great fishing not very far away). The house has two bedrooms (1 queen bed, 2 twin beds), 2 bathrooms, living room, and a fully equipped kitchen. It has a small deck in the back overlooking a pond (that sometimes has wild ducks on it). You have a nice view of a meadow and the mountains from the back. You may even have deer visiting the creek in the evenings in the back meadow!! The night sky is incredible for stargazers!! Nearby attractions: • Mt. The property has a pond and little creek running through the green field with flowers. It was pleasant to have dinner at the patio overlooking the creek. Well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer available for guests. We arrived late, around 6 pm, but the house was not ready. The host apologized and suggested few restaurants at Chester. We had to wait for another 1,5 hr while the place will be ready. The bathtub has drainage problem. Windows have a lot of spider webs and dead flies. It has all the basics and we had no problems settling in. There's a nice covered deck area around back which is great for coffee and bird watching in the AM. The kitchen was not stalked with basic cooking things, luckily we came prepared. I message the owner for a 1hr late check out but never got a response.
