"It sounds trite but this is truly a gem of a hotel. Beautiful location, quiet, lovely gardens, very comfortable room and first class service throughout the hotel, from welcome at reception to saying goodbye. Restaurant (Artisan Room) was very good, the staff here so very helpful and lovely with it. Food is fresh, local and well prepared and served. Could not fault it. Good wine list too. It's a beautiful old house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"Lovely location, character hotel. Stayed in family annex just away from main hotel. Nice room and separate room for children. Was nice but would of liked more information at booking that the room was not in the main hotel building, especially as was premium rate."
