Our village resort is truly family friendly, offering a delightful 60km of high snow runs linked by 24 lifts over mountains and passes to the resort Praz de Lys, and is suitable for all ski abilities. Village Ski Resort with aclose by even bigger choice: The chalet sits high above the village of Mieussy on the way its own ski resort of Praz de Lys - Sommand. Its just a few minutes drive further to park next to chair lifts that start at a high altitude of 1510m. Here the snow is already crisp and pillowy with soaring pine forests and open meadows. Next to the lifts are nursery slopes for beginers and ski schools and also lots of cross country trails. This magnificent setting make the resort a special place much sought after by cross country and back country skiers as well as families who require skiing at all levels. Its natural Alpine beauty at its best - unspoilt. Our village of Mieussy lies in the famous Samoens/Les Gets valley, the chalet is a 14 minutes drive up to Sommand and Praz de Lys. But equally the chalet door is less than 20 minutes drive from the chairlifts of the famous ski villages of Morillion/Samoens and Les Get/Morzine. All 4 villages link up with many other resorts and its possible to ski all day and right over into Switzerland, without backtracking. Its so big you will never get round it all ! But it's not all about the skiing. Chalet Le Moulin is also somewhere to enjoy time with your family and friends. Nigel and Irene's house is a place where you feel right at home. When it rains — and given the lush green surroundings, this is part of the Alpine experience — we made ourselves comfortable and read, relaxed by the fireplace, and/or ate cheese and other delicacies from French cuisine. The kitchen in the vacation home is well equipped to prepare all these treats. Numerous cookbooks help you prepare foreign recipes with delicious cheese, fresh fish from Super U, etc. Nearby are supermarkets, bakeries, cheese shops, a butcher and weekly markets that offer almost everything you need.When the weather is fine, there are countless opportunities for mountain tours/hikes, ranging from easy to strenuous - afterwards, you can enjoy the fantastic mountain panorama and the sunset on the balcony with a few snacks and good wines.Anyway, time flies... and it's time to plan your return next year. ##### Rolf G. It is a remarkable natural landscape in the immediate (Sameons valley) and wider surroundings. The cottage is comfortably furnished, very clean and the kitchen is well equipped with numerous appliances. Deep sleep is guaranteed, the memorable silence is accompanied only by the sound of the torrent. The location - secluded - is exceptional and met our expectations. Only the weather didn't want to show its best side - for alpine hiking - so we enjoyed our stay in the chalet all the more, with a crackling fire. Nearby shopping facilities in Mieussy offer fresh bread, delicious meat products and of course wonderful cheese, not just but also from the super cow “Abandonce”. Excursions to the surrounding area, Evian and Annecy offered good alternatives in bad weather. We hope for more stable weather for our next vacation in Nigel and Irene's wonderful vacation home. PS. If you want privacy, lovely views (Mont Blanc!!), and a great house for relaxing, walks, and nice quiet evenings, than this is the place to be! The owners were very friendly, and they send us good information about the house, the villages, and some walks. We highly recommend this lovely house for a summer stay! ##### Marjolijn d. Chalet le Moulin exceeded our expectations. The views are simply amazing and ever changing with the weather. The chalet is huge and beautifully presented. Everywhere you look there is something quirky that catches your eye. We cooked at the chalet every night and there is all the kitchen equipment you would ever need. The WIFI is super fast and my boys enjoyed the big TV on the mezzanine. The skiing both at Sommand and Praz de lys is perfect for my beginners but there is plenty of interesting stuff for those who need more of a challenge. We would love to stay again!!! ##### Dawn L. The size was great for a 8 person party and the view from the balcony incredible. Some upgrades to the appliances are necessary, the dishwasher was broken, sink clogged and not enough glasses/plates so we had to do a lot of hand washing. Also the floors were creaking a lot(I know an old chalet) so difficult to sleep if anyone wanted to go ul and down the stairs. Overall a good experience ##### Lavinia W. Nous avons séjourné en famille de 5 personnes avec un chien. Tout était très bien. Bon accès au chalet. Cuisine, sanitaires, lingerie, tout est très pratique, propre, et agréable. Bonnes literies. Deux points forts incontournables pour cette location : la décoration intérieure, authentique, boisée, pleine de charme, chaleureuse et confortable. Et le plus remarquable est la vue sur la vallée, assis sur la terrasse éclairée du matin au soir, ou dans le salon au bruit de la cheminée. Les alentours sont riches en randonnées et somptueux paysages. L'environnement est vraiment calme et apaisant, loin de la foule mais près de tout (pour faire du ski, de la luge ou ... les courses!) Le chalet possède en plus un large terrain très confortable, ouvert sur la vallée. Nous remercions chaleureusement les hôtes pour leur disponibilité et leur confiance. ##### Christine C. Wir haben eine schöne Woche verbracht. Leider konnten wir den "hot tub" nicht mit Wasser füllen, da die Wasserleitungen defekt sind. Hier wäre dringend Handlungsbedarf. Wanderungen direkt vom Haus, gemütliche Kaminabende bei Regenwetter, schöne Märkte in der Umgebung, eine toll ausgestattete Küche, sogar mit echtem Holzofen (wer mag - es gibt natürlich auch einen "normalen" Herd und Ofen ;-)), viele Spiele und Beschäftigungs-möglichkeiten für die Kinder. Wir haben eine tolle, abwechslungsreiche und sehr entspannte Herbstwoche verbracht und freuen uns auf eine Wiederkommen. Die Kommunikation mit Nigel war super. ##### Bernd B.
