This is a fabulous property and location, right on the water. Super peaceful,, really well-equipped and comfortable. Wendy was really helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!
I just had a 9 night stay in the fabulous property. The home is beautifully appointed with quality inclusions. I enjoyed cooking meals and kept cozy and warm with either the wood fire or heat pump. The beds were also very comfy. Fantastic views of the Channel, birdlife and boats. I was fortunate to photograph the Sothern Aurora from the jetty very near the house.
The whole family had an amazing Holiday around Tasmania and the farmhouse was very well setup, relaxing spot. It was about 50 mins drive from Hobart (Peppina Italian Restaurant - well worth the trip). The ferry to Bruny island is very close and the house itself has all the things you will need to settle in and just relax. The kitchen is also well setup for anything we wished to cook, though in the end we mainly used the little BBQ and outside table sitting under the porch for our meals.
I would highly recommend this place, especially if you wished to take some time and just lounge around in nature for a while, right near the beach.
This is the most idyllic spot to stay! We loved the view and the wildlife - including lapwings, ducks and rabbits in the garden in the morning and visits from pademelons and possums in the evening! It was great to see oyster catchers on an oyster-strewn beach! The house feels like a step back in time and is well and tastefully appointed. It was a bit of a faff having to reset the dishwasher at the mains switch each time (low down in the back of a cupboard) but we live in an old house so are used to such quirks!Access is good and the local shop is very convenient with friendly staff. Coningham Beach was a fabulous find and we loved Tahune Adventures including the picturesque drive to get there. It’s a beautiful place to come and relax and unwind. Just wish we’d had longer! We had excellent communication with Wendy ahead of our arrival and I hope we will have the chance to return someday. Thank you.
Loved our stay at Middleton . The house was perfect with everything you need for a 7 night stay .
We never got sick of the amazing view and we could all completely relax here.
What a gorgeous place to spend a few days with our family. We all had enough space to 'chill' on our own and then enough space to come together for chasings, meals, tv, games, the fire and just sitting together outside gazing at the amazing view. We loved everything about our stay at Wavestation.
Tranquil setting, loved the view, very clean, kitchen well stocked with every implement imaginable and thoughtful staples provided, plentiful wood supplied for cosy wood burner fire, wallabies visited the lawn daily - would definitely recommend.

Disappointed
We arrived 5 mins early for our 3pm checkin to find the cleaner just leaving. So the wet floors were not an issue. However, given that the weather was cold, wet and miserable, it wouldn't have been too much for a heater to have been switched on for our arrival. The lack of firewood and kindling and a fireplace full of ash meant that we needed to use a split system a/c instead. This unit was too small for the space and never got the room warm enough. The oven was filthy and we didn't go near it. Sofas in the lounge were threadbare with holes and one arm even having a large tacky cloth patch hastily sewn into it. The coffee machine still had the grinds of the previous occupier in the group head. Food or some other substance was smeared on the top of the machine. White stains were evident on the sacked out green cushions on the sofas. Dining chairs were still on the table. The toilet seat was falling off and in any case it was too small. Walls and other fittings needed a good wipe down to rid them of runs and food marks. Wet towels spinning in the clothes drier on our arrival and then upon letting the owner know, we were asked to fold them and put them on the bench when dry. We stayed in 4 other places during our Tassy trip. This place was the worst. In fact, had we been able to secure other accommodation, we would have moved out.
This was our fourth stay in this beautiful federation home overlooking the D’entrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island. A stunning outlook, and beautifully comfortable home. So many birds of different types. Watching them and the visiting wildlife from the verandah whilst drinking in the view was just divine. Thank you!
Everything from the street appeal to entering the property oozes colonial country charm. The gardens are a particular highlight. The kitchen is well equipped and beds comfortable. Our hosts were quick in responding to our questions once we arrived. Only a short 10 minute walk to the boat launching ramp, community tennis court and the Middleton General Store which had some wonderful local gourmet products to round out our meals.
Wonderful stay, amazing views and front porch for cups of tea in the morning. Thankyou.

Just as good second time
We first visited January 2017 and have just returned from our second trip- some time at Wavestation celebrating my husband’s 50th with a little trip away. The sheer tranquility and peacefulness of the location is so soul-soothing. Thank you for keeping this beautiful home so well for visitors.

10/10 for comfort, facilities, privacy, broad verandahs on which to relax and take in the view, a stroll down the driveway to the water for a swim, or sail your boat ! We’ll be back .

Disappointed
I booked Wavestation as a special romantic getaway to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. I was so disappointed when we arrived to find that this property does not have the immaculate gardens and beautiful French furnishings in the master bedroom as shown in the photographs. The gardens were mostly dead and overgrown with weeds and some of the furnishings were old and poorly maintained. The lounge chairs in front of the TV had covers which were faded & torn, exposing the inner foam. The master bedroom had bare hooks above the bedhead where pictures used to hang and instead of the gorgeous French chairs in the photos, there was a faded, old blue lounge chair in the corner. Very disappointed.
