Across the street from two beach stops, from outside you can get to the beach using either the front stair case or using the sloped driveway and street to the beach for a no stairs route. From the screened in covered front porch relax to the soothing sounds of the nature, waves and sights of boats gliding across the horizon. We frequently see lots of nature including bluejays, orioles, cardinals, hawks, deer and more. For over 120 years classic beach home has created long lasting memories for guests year after year. About an hour drive from downtown Chicago with over 60 feet of Lake Shore Drive Frontage and miles of sandy beach. Across the street from stop 9 Sheridan Beach. About 6 stairs to 1st floor of house. About 15 stairs to 2nd floor (please note the stair case is narrow and does not have hand rails please see photos). Gig speed fiber internet and wifi. We have 2 queen sleeper sofas on the front porch. The front porch does not have drapes, heat or ac, but has storm windows, screens, and gets frequent lake breezes, also has storm windows. Dining room table that comfortably sits 6, dine to Lake MI sunsets. There is 1 bedroom on 1st floor with queen size bed, extra linens and pillows in cabinets under the bed, room darkening shades. Living room with queen sleeper sofa, separate sitting area, ceiling fans, TV, Apple TV with Fubo TV cable and several streaming service options. Upstairs there are two bedrooms both with king size beds with extra linens and pillows are under the bed. Upstairs there is a nook overlooking Lake Michigan futon couch that folds flat and also into chaise lounge. Pack n play with changer in 1 bedroom. 2nd small 1/2 bath upstairs, and sitting area. Home comfortably sleeps 6 adults, more using 3 queen sleeper sofas, futon in upstairs nook, couch and/or air mattresses. HEPA air cleaners and ceiling fans in all bedrooms. Outside we have a fire pit, grill, picnic table, enclosed outdoor rinse station with privacy door. Rental includes house, shed, no access to detached garage. Shed is stocked with beach toys, chairs, stroller, beach wagon, land more. Washer, dryer in the unfinished basement. The fireplace is for decorative purposes only and is not operational. We will not be present but available via text, email or phone should you need us. We have exterior ring cameras, there are no cameras indoors in tenant areas. We are down the street from Washington Park including the zoo, outdoor concert, park, splash pad, beach restaurant and more. Across the street and two doors down from stops 8 & 9 Sheridan beach access. Approx 1.8 miles to Lighthouse Place Outlet Mall, and downtown Michigan City shops, restaurants, Blue Chip casino, Michigan City Amtrak Station (to/from Chicago) and more. The views even on rainy days is amazing. We stay because it is a clean and quiet place to relax. Nothing better than napping on the front porch. The amenities are really good and everything is clean and well cared for. It would be a great beach house for a group or family and I could see staying with a few friends. If you are looking for the quintessential beach house vacation, look no further! The house is adorable and the views are spectacular—even better than the pictures! The walk to the beach is easy—and the beach is beautiful. We took many long walks on the beach and the weather was warm enough (apparently hot for mid-May) to swim. Despite the unusually warm weather, we did not need the air conditioning because the breezes in the house were delightful. We are already planning a return visit in the fall. ##### Dan B. It had an absolutely great view of the lake/sunsets. We comfortably slept six teens/adults. The AC was great, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was easy to use and clean up, the outdoor shower was handy, the outdoor seating and fire ring were great. And Michigan City is a charming little town (very quiet!). The beach is absolutely great (and this is coming from an East Coast native). It was clean and in a great location. The house was fully stocked with essentials. The view of the lake was fabulous. The only downside was the walk back up the hill to the house from the beach. And only takes a few minutes to walk to it. We made use of the full-sized kitchen and the large dining table. Beds were comfy. It was nice for the kids to each have their own room. It. Was. Perfect. Perfect weather, perfect spot. 10/10, would book again. We loved that chairs, towels, etc. were available to use, especially with the beach wagon. House is super-clean and has everything. Communications and directions were excellent. This was our second year at this property. It was super quiet bc ND and the Bears were both out of town. This property was in a great location and perfect for our family. The check in process was easy and the house was just as described. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. We enjoyed hiking at the Indiana Dunes State Park and drove the 15 min drive to New Buffalo for a day. Swingbellys was great for dinner and Dunebillies is always good for breakfast. My only issue was the weeds were so overgrown by the picnic table that we were unable to enjoy dining outside and they made it difficult to enjoy the view of the lake. The weeds were also hanging over the steps to the beach pathway, making it difficult to walk down the steps. Everything else made for a great family vacation. While a short walk the dunes and uphill return will challenge you but it will also help you work off the good vacation meals. The one thing I would have appreciated would have been a small bar of soap for the shower. It may have been mentioned in the very detailed information to bring your own. We brought shampoo but missed any memo on soap. No biggie really, went and purchased some. Know this truly is a 100 year old property and the stairs are very steep but once you make it upstairs there is a beautiful view from a sitting room and one of the bedrooms! Don’t put you 6ft plus family members upstairs as the bathroom is really tiny. Our son who lives in Chicago called it an “city bathroom” Overall a very nice stay! ##### Sherry M.
