"This is a beautifully decorated house with ample space, games for the teens, and a wonderful garden area. The best part of the property was the wonderful hosts. We came in late after many of the restaurants had closed and helped us get something to eat. They truly went above and beyond. It has great access to the Loire Valley chateaus and we wish we had more time at this location. The kitchen, coffee bar and bathroom were exceptional. Hats off to whoever the decorator was! "L'annonce est incomplète car il est inscrit "logement entier" pour la chambre zen alors qu'il s'agit d'une chambre dans une maison où l'autre chambre peut être louée, ce qui a été le cas. Partager la même salle de bain et toilettes n'est pas confortable. De plus la cabine de douche était sale (moisissures). Il faut prendre les clés dans un enclos où il y a des chèvres et un âne. Le matin du départ, la voisine qui nourrit les animaux a reçu un coup de sabot de l'âne ... Je n'étais pas à l'aise...

"We enjoyed our stay in this truly historic chateau. The property has so much history that we enjoyed walking around seeing everything. The architecture is fascinating. Beautiful view of the valley from the dining room. Our room was basic but clean. Big comfortable tub. They had forgotten to change out our towels so we had to ask for fresh. Minor inconvenience. We had an excellent dinner in a beautiful room with high ceilings and a view out to the courtyard. The breakfast is ala carte and plentiful. A nice variety of eggs, bacon, pastries, yogurt, cheese and meats. We were just there for one night driving through to Paris. It fit our needs perfectly."

La Borde en Sologne Château & Spa

"The Chateau and its grounds are beautiful, though in a somewhat rustic, magnificently aged, sort of way. We really enjoyed lounging at the pool in a spectacularly scenic setting and biking around the grounds. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent. Enjoying it is a key part of the French Chateau experience. We reserved a deluxe double room, but were upgraded to a higher category room because of a complication with the reservation. The room was very good, having all the amenities one might need. The staff were great. The Chateau only has some bicycle fitness machines for working out and the nearest gym is approximately 25 minutes away. The tennis court is respectably good but not top of the line. Because the Chateau is sufficiently close to some of the important sites in the Loire Valley (e.g,, Chambord, Chenonceau and Blois), we were able to use it as a base for visiting them. Note, however, that driving on the country roads is a little bit hairy."

"We stayed 2 nights, mom and teen daughter. Stayed in a queen cabin. First the goods - the air conditioning on our cabin was exceptional and bed super comfy. We slept well in the heat. The staff are ALL very friendly and helpful. Pool was perfect temperature for a dip in the heat. They had poolside drink service too. Honestly, I can’t say enough about the very good and friendly service. Location is fantastic, very close to Blois. You need a car Points to consider - the wifi in our cabin was practically non-existent. If you have to work here, plan to rely on cell service. As others have mentioned, the shower is poorly designed and if you aren’t very careful, water will stream everywhere. I noticed the floor is warped in several places and I expect it’s from sitting water from shower. Breakfast was not excellent. Reminded me more of a Holiday Inn Express than a beautiful French countryside hotel. Maybe my expectations were too high. We ate at the restaurant one evening. We enjoyed it, staff very accommodating."
