Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay at Mountain Cottage! The home is beautifully decorated, spotless, and secluded. The hot tub was set at the most perfect temperature and you're minutes away by foot from the most beautiful sunsetting spots you can imagine! I highly recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to spend time away from the grind! We will definitely be coming back.

Cozy cabin
Quick easy weekend stay at quiet nice cozy cabin! Perfect tucked-away spot not on road (great if you don’t require Brow view/site). Only a mile from main street of Mentone so fast to and from restaurants and places there. Comfy solid king bed and nice kitchen w/ private screened-in porch. Enjoyed it!

Great experience
Claudia was a wonderful host, and told us all that we needed to know about the property and the town. The cottage was beautiful inside and out, and had all the amenities needed for a quiet weekend away from the City. The hot tub worked perfectly, and the wood-burning fireplace was amazing on a really cold weekend. The bed was also very comfortable. We enjoyed some wonderful restaurants in town as well.

Great weekend!
We had an excellent weekend! The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed! It was super clean and very comfortable. Please note that there is not Wi-Fi at this cabin which makes it perfect for escaping the world!

Great Getaway
We had a good stay. We needed a relax and decompression weekend and we got it. Love the hot tub. It is one of the newer composite(not fiberglass) models and it sits lower and is easier to get into and out of. A big plus since I'm a lower leg amputee! Love the screened in porch as well. Could read and eat without biting insects bothering you. Drove 45 miles to Section, AL and ate at the Old Gin Steak House. Was well worth the drive. Saw no wildlife. Tankless hot water heater was great as well. No running out of hot water if someone stays in too long!

A super clean and well thought out cabin!
In over 20 years of renting cabins, this one is easily the cleanest one we've been in. There was no dust ANYWHERE. This was also a very well thought out cabin; from the hot tub setup(from having a roof over it, to the runner leading to it, to not being over-chlorinated), to the on demand hot water heater, to the controls to the lights and the front lock and on and on, everything was well thought out so it was intuitive to use. It's also insulated to the point that the only sound you hear from outside at night is the occasional train. The cabins across the road offer a view, but I would rather go to this one again.

Wonderful anniversary weekend
The cottage was very warm and welcoming. It was very clean and very well stocked. The screened in porch made for a great relaxation place. Being located close to Brow Park made the final sunset of 2022 a site to behold. The host was great to work with.

Peaceful getaway
The property was just as described, but so nicely decorated for Christmas. That was a treat we didn't expect! Being so close to Mentone was great, but we felt a million miles away at the cabin. It was the perfect getaway for our anniversary. I loved the details of the handmade soap and the popcorn for us to enjoy. Thank you for a relaying stay!

Amazing!
We stayed for a long weekend and absolutely fell in love with this house in the woods. Everything was extremely clean and well stocked. We enjoyed watching the deer, the hot tub and just relaxing inside the cozy cabin. We ventured out to nearby Desoto Falls and Little River Canyon, both were beautiful. We look forward to staying here again.

Best Get Away
Everything was perfect just needed some time away some time without all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Was so cozy and was nice just relaxing for awhile not having anywhere I had to be or do. Definitely recommend.

Lovely inside too. It's small so best for a couple w up to 2 children above age 7 who can handle very steep staircase safely. Doll house. Thoughtful decor, nice touches. Well done cabin in the quiet woods. Outside fire pit and hot tub.

The cabin did not disappoint and was as described. Very secluded area with great patio to sit and listen to nature. The hot tub was nice and relaxing as well. Well apportioned living space as well. Will try to stay during winter as well.

Great cabin
Claudia was a wonderful host and very easy to contact. If you are looking for seclusion this cabin is the ticket. Nice hot tub and it includes a partial screen in back porch where you can eat meal on without the bugs. The only negative people may find about this cabin is there is no internet/wifi but I don't think that's a big deal. Sometimes it's great to disconnect and relax. We appreciated the chance to get to stay here. The cottage is very clean and well-decorated. The beds are all comfortable - we slept so well here! The hot tub is great and the kitchen was more spacious than we expected. We also appreciated the kind welcome on the chalkboard in the house. Claudia was a dream to communicate with. If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing weekend with a view of nature , then this is the place for you ! Claudia made our first stay in Mentone wonderful! She checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed and is very detailed in recommendations of Mentone and surrounding areas for first time goers . Welcome Summer
The property is clean and has all kitchen/household items one needs when traveling. It was peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed relaxing around the property and taking short walks to the pond. The beds and bedding are comfortable. The owners thought of everything and even fun little extras. The cabin was so clean we left a note and tip money for Kathy P, who cleaned and sanitized before our stay. I’d book again.

Short but Sweet
Claudia was wonderful to check on us even before we arrived on the property. It was so nice to ask questions about the local sites and restaurants, since we had only experienced Mentone briefly one day 2-3 years earlier. The cabin was exactly what we needed for our anniversary trip and we enjoyed every minute! We have already started making plans to return since we were unable to stay very long.

Nice place/great location
Owners had very thorough & well-thought out amenities…great communication with us. Hot tub felt great after hiking in this beautiful area. Clean & quiet…Five stars on everything…(except mattress was a little too soft for our old backs…lol. But that’s just a personal preference)

Thank you for the kind words, Don! I'm so sorry the mattress was too soft for you. It's a newer mattress and we thought it was a bit hard so we put a plush mattress topper on it to "soften" it up. Your next visit, remind me and I will remove it. We also have 2 tempur-pedic mattresses upstairs that are more firm (too firm for me) lol that you can put together. Our house is your house when you visit so your welcome to use all beds in the house. :) We enjoyed having you and hope you return! Thank you for being our guests... CLaudia

Great cottage vacation
Clean, beautiful, cozy, and relaxing. We enjoyed coming back to the cottage after a long day of hiking to soak in the hot tub and relax in the soft bed. In the morning you get to enjoy sitting on screened in back porch and watch the birds. Loved every minute and kids enjoyed as well.
