We found a crocoach in the bathroom which was scary. I'll advise the hotel do a thorough fumigation of the hotel and leep their toilet drainage all completely sealed.

Unfortunately, my stay at the hotel was quite disappointing. The room wasn't clean, there was a broken chair, and the surprise upgrade I paid for wasn't delivered for most of my stay. Additionally, we didn't receive the robes that we paid for. The service and communication were also lacking. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and improves for future guests.

Lovely Stay at the Perogola Hotel during the first week of October. The hotel is situated in a quiet town at the top of the hill, overlooking the bay and large church, we opted for the sea view which was worth paying the extra. Our apartment was very comfortable, spacious and clean. Staff were always friendly and helpful especially the reception who all had local knowledge so could help with planning trips out. It’s well worth getting a weekly bus pass so you can explore the local area, and so that you don’t have to walk up the hill from the beach. The cave bar and pool area were my favourite, always clean and tidy, not to busy when we were there. Good choice of cocktails, snacks and ice creams. We had half board, the food was good but not exceptional, we always found something to eat, breakfast was a little repetitive withe the usual bacon eggs, bread , cheese and fruit. The only negative thing I could say is that if you have poor mobility the hotel does have a lot of steps (lifts are available) not a problem for us

Amazing hotel with fantastic staff. Close to the town, bus stops and restaurants. Their gym isn't equipped well and the pillows could be better (personal opinion). Nothing that ruined our holiday though:)

Not the best for what they advertise, at best a 3 star hotel. They don’t serve any vegetarian food for breakfast, it’s the 21st century, you have to request vegetarian breakfast then they will make it for you. However the food was so poor quality it was not edible. At the end we told them not to worry about making any food for the rest of the stay. Kids struggled with the limited selection of food available. Was very disappointed, the front desk staff could not care, just kept on telling us to contact the restaurant. We would not book again.

We renamed the hotel ‘The Pergatory’ because we were counting down the days until we left and moved to another hotel. This is a former timeshare property which means they have lots of rooms, which were either self contained apartments or hotel rooms. Either way, they haven’t been modernised since the eighties. The biggest issue by far is the fact that there simply aren’t enough sun beds for guests. Add to the fact that they allow people to ‘reserve’ them from stupid o’clock in the morning means that unless you get up at 7am, there’s no way you will get one. Yes, it’s a bit cheaper than the Maritim hotel across the road but that place is WAY better - I’ve stayed there half a dozen times. The only reason I stayed at the Pergatory is because I left it too late to book

Pergola is a well run hotel ideal for a short stay in Malta. 1 bedroom apartment was ideal and cleaned daily. Staff were all helpful and professional. Cave bar is lovely. Breakfast buffet was fine. Evening meals what you expect from mass catering, but plenty of local restaurants when you want something more special. Recommended for families, couples and solo travellers alike.

The property is in a stunning location with the best view of Mellieha Bay and the Church. The pools and dining facilities are great and have a very relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel at ease. The apartment room size is fantastic and it makes you feel like you are living there, and not just staying/visiting. We did have an issue on check in, where we were not given any local information or guidance about the area (or even directed to the well-hidden leaflet stand), and the room we were given initially was not the right set-up for beds (they gave us a double when we had had two email conversations prior to checking in confirming we would be given a twin - as I was staying with my son). We were also disappointed that though the renovated rooms look fantastic, with tasteful interior decor, this came at the expense of removing every bath - a frankly baffling decision as this is a basic perk of any hotel and a welcome relief after a day out in the hot sun.

Like a resort it has everything you need: breakfast buffet, pools, kids area, restaurants, spa. Also has the best view. Jelena, Elena, Oliver at the Cave Bar were so friendly. Everyone we met was so friendly and hospitable. The food options are excellent especially the classic burger and pizzas. We went during their annual, 3 day party to honour Marija Bambina so the music and fireworks were ongoing till 3am on those nights. We managed to get some sleep when we upgraded to a room in the main building surrounding the inner courtyard pool. All in all a great experience

We had a few teething problems, we booked a transfer from the airport which didn’t arrive and two nights we had no air conditioning, which is why it’s not a 5 star recommendation, however the staff were helpful, the hotel was spotless, the infinity pool was perfect (temp and not too salty or chlorine). The food was nice if a little over priced. Had a lovely couple of weeks

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location overlooking Mellieha Bay and the church. Clean and modern, room was a great size and was lovely to have the addition of a kitchenette and lounge area. The balcony overlooked the swimming pool and cave bar and had the same lovely views of Mellieha Bay. The best part by far was the service...every member of staff was so polite and friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great holiday. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in a different room than what was originally booked due to a maintenance issue. Dinner was offered on the house. We understand and accepted the efforts. Only so much is within our control - especially with maintenance malfunction. Next day, our apartment room still wasn’t available, but we had to be out of our temp studio room as the cleaning team needed to prep it for the next guests. We had to leave our luggage with the staff, but all valuables needed to come with us as we self-toured the island of Gozo. Needless to say it wasn’t a relaxing day considering the cash, passports and a few other items we had to constantly monitor when parking, when going in for a dip in the water or a boat ride to explore caves. Everything became an extremely limited experience. Not to mention when they transferred our food from the Studio Room to the Apartment Room, they disposed of all of our food versus moving it with our luggage, including our wine. Lastly when we returned to the hotel, after a long day - a quick shower before dinner was had. But for my husband only, as the issue was not fixed. The drain was still clogged and it flooded our bathroom. Was hoping for the 4* review experience we had read about.

The room was clean but there was a smell of damp. The air con worked well but the room was very hot when first going in. The staff on reception and in the cave bar were fantastic. My only complaint would be the behaviour of the day pass people. Eating and drinking in the pool all day. The pool was really murky looking by the end of our two week stay.

It could have been great except that the hotel allows day guests so the pool areas crowded and noisy. The pool was murky and people were eating and drinking whilst swimming. They were asked not to by staff but we’re halfway through the food by then.

Always loved this hotel. Refurbishment has made it even better. Knew they were closing on Sun 15/11 so booked to leave on Th 12. Frustrated and disappointed to be told they were closing even earlier. They moved us to their sister hotel Solana for last 4 nights. Not what we wanted nor booked.
