    The Space:

ROOM FOR THE WHOLE GROUP TO SPREAD OUT

Some houses just make a group relax, and this is one of them. It's a big, character-filled place with room to be together without being on top of each other. Five bedrooms and living areas spread over two floors, so everyone gets their own corner, there's somewhere to gather and somewhere to slip away to, and the formal dining room is made for a long, unhurried lunch whatever the weather outside.

Out the back is the part people remember. A private pool sits in established, leafy gardens, with a balcony above looking over the water. In the warm months that's where the days go, in the pool, in the shade of the palms, dinner outside as it cools. When the weather turns, the house draws everyone back in, warm and light-filled, with room to spread out and settle. It works in any season.

When you want the city it's a short tram ride to Richmond, the MCG and town, with the Glenferrie and Burwood Road cafes close by. But most of the time you won't want to leave. It's a period-style home with real character and a relaxed, lived-in feel, made for space and easy group living rather than a matched showpiece look.

    The Neighborhood:

A QUIET SCOTCH HILL POCKET WITH A VILLAGE AROUND THE CORNER

Robinson Road sits on Scotch Hill, one of Hawthorn's leafiest, most established pockets, wide tree-lined streets, grand old homes and green space close on every side. You're about six kilometres from the city, but it feels a world quieter.

The everyday village is Auburn Village, a few streets away, one of Melbourne's oldest shopping strips and full of independent cafes, boutiques and restaurants with a European feel. Grab a coffee and breakfast, browse the shops, settle in for a long lunch. For the bigger shop and a film, Glenferrie Road (Woolworths, Ritchies IGA and the art-deco Lido Cinemas) is a short hop further on.

Green space is the other draw. The Gardiners Creek trail is close by for a morning walk or ride, with Anderson Park and Patterson Reserve nearby, and the Boroondara Farmers Market for a weekend wander. Scotch College and its grounds set the tone of the whole precinct. And if you're here in winter, you're in Hawks country on an AFL weekend.

    Getting Around:

This leafy pocket is easy to get around, with the village close and the city a short train ride away.

    ▶ ON FOOT

◈ Auburn Village cafes, shops and restaurants, a short walk away (1.2km or 15min walk)

◈ The Gardiners Creek trail for a walk or ride

◈ Anderson Park and the leafy Scotch Hill streets for a stroll

    ▶ A SHORT RIDE

◈ Auburn (1.4km) and Hawthorn Stations (2.5km), on the Lilydale, Belgrave and Alamein lines, into the city

    ◈ Riversdale Road trams nearby

◈ Glenferrie Road for the bigger shop, supermarkets and the Lido Cinemas

◈ Melbourne CBD, about 6km via CityLink

◈ Richmond and the MCG, a few stops on the train

◈ Melbourne Airport, about 25 to 30 minutes by car, traffic depending

    Other Things to Note:

    SAME-DAY BOOKINGS

We have a one-day booking lead time to arrange housekeeping and check-in for the following day. For last-minute bookings we can't always guarantee a 3pm check-in, especially where there's a departing guest. Priority goes to guests who've booked ahead.

    EARLY CHECK-IN

After booking, and up to the morning of arrival, you can request a paid early check-in for a nominated time. It's subject to approval and depends on departing guests. If you definitely need earlier access, consider booking the night before.

    LATE CHECK-OUT

If you'd like a little longer, paid late check-outs are available subject to availability.

    STARTER SUPPLIES

The home is stocked to get you started: toiletries, fresh towels, tea, coffee and kitchen basics, plus a few dishwasher and laundry pods. It's enough to begin your stay rather than last the whole time. If you run low, our team can point you to nearby stores and delivery, or arrange more.

    TRAVELLING WITH PETS

We welcome up to two small dogs (no cats). Please contact us before booking so we can confirm your stay suits them. The pet fee is added to your booking automatically. Please note that pets must be supervised at all times. The property is not fully enclosed for animals, so keeping them secure is the guest's responsibility.

    POOL AND CHILDREN

The pool is fenced, but children must be supervised in the pool and garden at all times.

    BABY EQUIPMENT FOR HIRE

For safety and hygiene, we recommend our preferred baby-hire companies for any equipment you need. Just ask.

    LONG STAYS

Stays of 28 nights or more require at least one paid mid-stay clean each month so our team can clean, maintain and inspect the home. This is non-negotiable, and we can tailor the frequency with you.

    POTENTIAL FOR NOISE

This is a quiet, leafy street, but it's still the inner city. You may occasionally hear everyday neighbourhood and traffic sounds.

    Interaction with Guests:

We keep things easy and contactless. You'll check yourself in with the key safe whenever you arrive, and settle in on your own schedule. Our team isn't on-site, but we're a message away and quick to respond if you need anything during your stay, from local tips to sorting out a hiccup. We'll send everything you need before arrival, and otherwise leave you to enjoy the house.
