About this property
The Cubhouse at Triple Z
Summary:
Cosy and rustic 1-bed retreat for two with lake access and a bear-themed vibe. Features a walk-in shower, kitchenette, on-site guest laundry, and easy access to city centre Medicine Park and the Wichita Mountains.
The Space:
The CUBHOUSE is a one-bedroom, one-bath cabin. Inside, you'll find a bear-themed space with a comfy bed, walk-in shower, and a compact kitchenette for light meals. The cabin is ideal for solo travellers or couples looking for a peaceful spot to relax. With direct lake access and beautiful surroundings, it’s the perfect Medicine Park escape.
Guest Access:
Guests have full, private access to The CUBHOUSE during their stay. You'll also have direct access to the creek and shared access to the on-site laundry facilities. Parking is available on-site.
As of June 2025 Gondola Dam is being repaired and the creek is currently drained on our side. The property is still beautiful and there is still plenty of places in town to enjoy Medicine Creek. But I wanted everyone to be aware that temporarily there is NO WATER on our side of the creek.
The Area:

Located just minutes from city centre Medicine Park, The CUBHOUSE offers a quiet retreat while keeping you close to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. You're also right next to the entrance of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge—perfect for hiking, wildlife spotting, and scenic drives.
Getting Around:
Free on-site parking is available for guests. City centre Medicine Park is just a 2-minute drive away, and the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is right next door.
Please note: there is a small, low-water crossing just before our driveway. Standard vehicles handle it just fine, but if you're driving a lowered or low-profile car, we recommend taking it slow when crossing.
Other Things to Note:
We occasionally get visits from our neighbors’ chickens, a pot-bellied pig named Kevin Bacon, and the family dog. We're new to the area, and they were here first! Most guests really enjoy their visits (we love that the chickens help keep the bugs away). DO NOT allow pets or children to chase or pester them. If you’d prefer they move along, just ignore them they'll keep moving.
You're also in a natural area, so you might spot deer, raccoons, or the occasional fox nearby. It’s all part of the charm of staying close to nature.
Interaction with Guests:
As your host, I’ll let you enjoy your stay uninterrupted, but I’m totally available if you need anything. Feel free to message me through the booking app or call/text me directly.
There are two separate cabins on the property: The Bear’s Den and The Cubhouse. Both are private units, but they share access to the on-site guest laundry, and lake access.
Located in Medicine Park, this apartment is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge and Gondola Lake reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Medicine Park Aquarium & Natural Sciences Center and The Mason Jar. Elmer Thomas Splash Park and Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with nearby fishing, or enjoy the great outdoors with cycling and mountain climbing. Visit our Medicine Park travel guide

We had a great trip. It was a nice getaway. I think when I read the description of where it was, I thought it was close to the place to swim so that we could walk, but it definitely is not. However, it was a cute little place and very comfortable.
The cabin was wonderful what a nice homie place to go to when you get away from home we were there for the firework show, but mother nature gave us some lightning show also and competition with the firework show. I don’t know which was better but as for the cabin and the host, all five stars in my book, we will probably make a return in the future.
Place was fairly old but was very clean. Well supplied with essentials. My only complaint is that there was no place to hang clothes or a chest to put them in. Had to leave everything in our bags. But this isn't a deal breaker. Would stay here again.
This was a cute little cabin. The a/c in the bedroom was amazing! We only stayed for a night, but I really liked it. Our baby doggie felt right at home too.
