We came from Oakland and were on our way to Lake Tahoe, and wanted to explore Nevada City and the Yuba River area. We loved everything about the rental and wished we could have stayed longer. We only stayed 2 nights, but it was lovely. The property is so quiet, I had one of the best nights sleep in ages. The guest house is nicely equipped and had everything we needed to be comfortable. although we were out and about with wedding activites, we enjoyed sitting on the front deck in the evening having wine and just relaxing. The property is a few miles outside of Auburn, but the drive to get into town was really easy. I recommend taking the hosts recommendations for eating places. We had dinner at the Tin Lantern and ate breakfast twice at Catherine's. I wish we had more time to explore the area. The lake is a short drive down the street. We hope to return to the area on our next trip north and spend a few extra days to do more of the activities around the area. The hosts have a nice manual with places to go and things to see - I want to do them all. In summary - we really enjoyed the property. It was exactly what we needed and where we needed to be. Quiet, comfortable and great location. The hostess was amazing at responding to any and all inquiries. Oh yes - we saw 3 deer over the 2 nights we were there.
