When you first walking inside the home you are welcomed by floor to ceiling wood interior combining with the modern central stone fireplace for unparalleled comfort. Wake up refreshed and start the morning off with a fresh cup of coffee and watch the sunrise on the wrap around porch or take a brisk morning walk through the quiet community. After your morning routine, it’s time to pack everyone up and head out for a day filled with adventure! In the Winter months make sure to load up your snow gear for a day spent out on the slopes as this home resides in the Ski in/ Ski out community as well. Or take the kids over to the Deep Creek Fun Zone for an afternoon filled with pizza, arcade games or even laser tag. There’s plenty to do in the Summer as well! Spend the day boating across the lake where you can dock along several of the restaurants for a delicious family lunch. When we first arrived, I followed the instructions for entering: "wave your hand in front to wake it up", i.e. keypad.This did not work. My husband found a Railey maintenance person a little way down the road and he arrived to assist. Even he had difficulty with getting the keypad to work. He ended up putting his entire hand flush up against the pad and it finally "woke up". Not a major issue, but a little rocky start to the vacation. Since I had not been to Deep Creek Lake previously, I had no idea which location to target. It was mostly very quiet at all times of the day, which was our main objective for the week. I chose this particular house based on the layout (only me, my husband & golden retriever) because we like room to spread out. I also liked that the hot tub was on a covered deck. The hot tub was a little bit of a safety issue for us, in that, there was nothing for feet to grip onto when getting in. I had brought water shoes for the lake, so that solved the problem for me. I encountered the same slippery issue in the showers. I would not have thought to bring a tub mat on vacation but, will be packing one in the future.
