"Gite de Lou looks even better in real life, very nice and well equipped. Very spacious private garden and a lovely spotless pool. Christine was very friendly and welcoming, and spoiled us with lovely tasty tiramisu and other desserts. We would highly recommend the gite which is set in a quiet rural area, and gives a taste of the real France. "

The building is in peer condition, the interior drab, the carpeting in public areas quite dreadful. The room was tired but clean. We enjoyed being able to walk into town, and around the ramparts of the city. It’s a pity we had just one night, we would have liked to have stayed longer. Very good breakfast"

"Nice hotel in Angouleme. Had a little difficulty finding it at night since not familiar with area. Had after hours check in which went well, although gate for accessing parking area was not automatic but manual. Hotel is new in an older building, but that adds to its charm and has all the modern amenities (including A/C, which not all hotels have in the area). The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, but was small like most French hotel rooms. Enjoyed our one night stay and would stay here again if we are in the area. "
