The hotel is conveniently located, a short walk from the train station, the university and the centre of Maynooth village, were there are a number of pubs and restaurants. There are also (two?) swimming pools on site and a decent bar/restaurant (albeit a little expensive) and separate coffee shop/cafe. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to check in early, which was helpful as we had a toddler in need of a nap! Our room was a pretty generous size, although it was lacking a fridge, which is always handy with small children.
However, for some reason, our room was absolutely blazing hot! The radiator was off, but still, the only way to keep cool at night was to leave the windows open, which wasn't ideal as the hotel is next to a busy road.
Also, the morning of our checkout, we had ordered breakfast to our room, but it showed up late, so we had to skip it as we were running for a train - bit irritating.
