Treetop Cabin w/ Jetted Tub - Cozy Escape Near AVL

  • Wake up among the trees, sip coffee on one of two private decks, and unwind in the jetted soaking tub. Just 5 minutes from downtown Marshall and about 20 minutes from Asheville, our peaceful two-bedroom cabin is a cozy home base for hiking, river adventures, mountain towns, or simply slowing down. Enjoy fast Wi-Fi, thoughtful comforts, and warm, inclusive hospitality with privacy throughout your stay.

The space: Welcome to Ivy Bluffs -- a peaceful treetop cabin made for rest, adventure, and reconnection. Surrounded by mountain greenery above the Ivy River, our cozy two-bedroom cabin offers the feeling of a quiet woodland retreat while keeping you close to Marshall, Asheville, Hot Springs, hiking trails, river adventures, restaurants, and scenic drives.

    Why guests love Ivy Bluffs
-Jetted soaking tub for relaxing after a day outdoors
-Two private decks surrounded by trees
    -Two comfortable queen bedrooms
-Peaceful setting above the Ivy River
-Fast, reliable Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace
-Espresso maker, record player, books, games, and puzzles
-Seasonal wood stove available October through March
    -Five minutes from downtown Marshall
    -Approximately 20 minutes from Asheville
    -Thoughtful, locally owned hospitality
-A welcoming and affirming space for LGBTQ+ guests and families

Living Area: The main living space is warm, bright, and inviting, with natural wood tones and windows overlooking the surrounding trees. Settle in with a record, play a board game, curl up with a book, or relax with a movie after a day in the mountains. The cabin includes a kitchen where you can prepare meals and snacks during your stay, along with an espresso maker for slow mountain mornings.

Main-level Bedroom: The main-level bedroom features a queen bed, soft linens, and peaceful natural light. Its location on the main floor provides convenient access to the kitchen, living area, and bathroom.

Loft Bedroom and Private Balcony: The upstairs loft retreat includes a second queen bed, a small library, a dedicated workspace, and its own private balcony tucked into the trees. Please note that the loft is accessed by stairs and is open to the living space below.

Bathroom and Jetted Tub: The bathroom includes a shower and a jetted soaking tub -- one of our guests’ favorite features. It is a wonderful place to unwind after hiking, tubing, exploring Asheville, or spending the day wandering through nearby mountain towns. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and fresh towels are provided. The tub and shower have a higher step for entry, which may not be comfortable for every guest.

Outdoor Living: Two private decks invite you to slow down and enjoy the mountain setting. Start the morning with coffee among the trees, listen for the river below, read in the afternoon, or step outside at night to enjoy the quiet and look for stars. The outdoor areas are intended for peaceful relaxation. Outdoor fires are not permitted.

Seasonal Wood Stove: The wood stove is available from October through March. We provide a complimentary starter bundle of firewood during wood-stove season, and additional seasoned hardwood may be purchased from us or brought with you. Please note: the wood stove is closed from April through September.

Wi-Fi and Workspace: Fast, reliable Wi-Fi and a dedicated upstairs workspace make the cabin a comfortable option for remote work, writing, creative projects, or an extended mountain stay. Because the cabin is in a wooded mountain setting, occasional weather-related service interruptions are possible.

Families: Families are welcome at Ivy Bluffs. We provide games, puzzles, books, and plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area together. Please be aware that the property includes stairs, elevated decks, uneven terrain, and some areas without handrails. Children should be closely supervised throughout the property. Sleeping is limited to the two queen beds. Sleeping on the couch or in other areas of the cabin is not permitted.

Optional Homemade Scones: Make your mountain morning even cozier by adding a fresh homemade scone delivery to your stay. Seasonal flavors are available for $20, with homemade honey butter available for an additional $3. Availability may vary, so please message us in advance if you would like to order.

Parking and Cabin Access: The cabin is located above our main home on a wooded mountain property. Guests have one reserved parking space near the main house. From the parking area, you will walk up a short gravel path and two sets of approximately seven steps to reach the cabin. The path is uneven in places, and some stairs do not have handrails. The driveway is paved but steep. Guests should not drive beyond the designated parking area or onto the gravel section leading toward the cabin.

This property is best suited to guests who are comfortable with:
    -A steep mountain driveway
-A short uphill walk from the parking area
    -Gravel and uneven terrain
    -Stairs, including some without handrails
-A higher step into the tub and shower

Please review these details carefully before booking. We want every guest to arrive knowing what to expect and feeling confident that the cabin will be a comfortable fit.

Privacy and Hosting: You will have private access to the entire cabin, both decks, and all indoor guest spaces. We live nearby at the main house and are available if you need assistance, recommendations, or supplies. We respect our guests’ privacy and will leave you to enjoy the cabin unless you reach out or an urgent property need arises.

A Welcoming and Inclusive Retreat: We proudly offer a safe, affirming environment where LGBTQ+ guests, families, couples, and travelers of all backgrounds are welcomed and respected. Our goal is to provide warm, thoughtful hospitality while giving you the privacy and space to fully relax.

Explore the Area: Ivy Bluffs offers easy access to some of Western North Carolina’s most loved mountain communities and outdoor experiences:

    -5 minutes to downtown Marshall
-15 minutes to Weaverville and Mars Hill
    -20 minutes to Asheville
    -25 minutes to Hot Springs
-40 minutes to Asheville Regional Airport

Spend your days hiking, tubing, visiting local shops and galleries, exploring restaurants and breweries, driving scenic mountain roads, or relaxing along the river.

Supporting Our Community: Our mountain community continues to rebuild with care following recent flooding. Downtown Marshall has reopened and is welcoming visitors, although recovery work remains visible in parts of the area.

By staying with us and visiting local businesses, you directly support the people and small businesses helping this special community recover and thrive.

Whether you are planning an outdoor adventure, a peaceful retreat, a romantic weekend, or a few quiet days away, Ivy Bluffs offers a place to slow down, reconnect, and experience the mountains from the treetops.

Guest access: You’ll have full private access to the entire cabin, including both decks and all indoor spaces. For comfort and safety, we ask that sleeping is limited to the two queen beds (no couch or loft sleeping).

Great spot!

We took our six month old on his first trip to western NC and all had a blast! The cabin is beautiful and is situated in close proximity to hiking, fishing, and the Asheville brewery scene. Marshall’s wonderful Main Street is only minutes down the road. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful get away close to it all

We really enjoyed our stay here! The cabin was spotless and extraordinarily well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the fire place on cool mornings and the porch swing and upstairs porch were great for sitting and sipping coffee. Our hosts were so kind and helpful! They were very easy to communicate with and I would highly recommend trying some of their delicious scones! As the listing states, the driveway is steep and not for vehicles without all or four wheel drive. I had no issue with my truck, but if you don't have a capable vehicle, don't let it deter you. The walk from the hosts alternative parking to the cabin is quite short. The cabin is close to Marshall and Asheville if you're looking to explore.

Cozy cabin

We loved this cozy, mountaintop cabin. Close enough to Asheville, but far enough away for peace and quiet. Jenny and Freddy were very accommodating hosts. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Amazing weekend vacation!

I took my husband here for a birthday surprise and it was such a cute and relaxing cabin! The cabin was beautiful and we really enjoyed the record player! Marshall, NC also has a lovely historic downtown with cute shops and places to eat. This was a great place to stay and we’ll definitely be back! P.S. I would highly recommend getting the scones the host offers!
