At first I considered that my choice of the hotel was very good:the port, transport, restaurants. But staying for 2 nights in the area with some restaurants loud till 4 am or 7 a.m. deprives you from normal sleep. The lack of the air conditioner even in September makes the place not cool enough even with the help of the fan. The bath tub with the hand shower is comfortable but the part of the screen, usually used in the shower, doesn't protect the floor from the water. The bed is very comfortable and ironed bed sheets are excellent. I liked the kettle, complimentary tea bags, and spoons. I appreciate the immediate response to my request by the employees. The real pain was the key for the room: too heavy and I injured my finger opening the door. But I felt comfortable because of a warm attitude of the stuff which was ready to help with the storing of my light luggage.

The room was basic, clean, quiet with a kettle. Towels were changed every day which I was not expecting and not really necessary. Helpful receptionists and they very kindly helped me with my heavy case. Great location! Yards from the Opera House and a few metres away from the Old Port. Would recommend it as good value for money.

Great location and cheap. Generally clean but just very shabby and rundown. It’s a 2 star hotel but I’d give it 1 star. Nice staff. It seemed clean but the floor hadn’t been mopped so dust and bits of fluff. Cheap and quiet considering the area near port.

LOCKED OUT OF HOTEL OVERNIGHT

Plus side: the lady on reception was lovely, friendly and helpful. The room was comfy. DOWNSIDE: you needed to buzz to enter the hotel. It was supposed to be a 24 hour reception. I arrived back at the hotel at just after midnight on 2/9/25. I pressed the buzzer with no luck. I also banged on the front door, with no response. I was buzzing and/or banging between midnight and 02:30 approximately, at which point I accepted I was homeless for the night. During this time I contacted Expedia who tried ringing the hotel with no luck. I had also tried ringing but just got voicemail. Finally at 07:30 approximately the door was opened. The man at reception was cleaning his teeth when I got to the top of the stairs. This indicated to me he had been sleeping and was just freshening up. He was also wearing AirPods. I suspect he turned the buzzer off in reception so he didn’t get disturbed and then either slept or was listening to his AirPods. Either way he was not doing his job and I was left to walk the streets of Marseille all night. He did not apologise but simply claimed it was the first time the buzzer had been heard. I was given a refund for the night, but having to stay awake all night affected the following day and ruined my experience.

As a solo traveller I look want a safe, friendly, comfortable, clean room and I found this little no thrills hotel ticked all those boxes. It was incredibly economical and was right in the middle of the action of the old port within walking distance of everything and connected well by public transport. Safe neighbourhood with lots of eateries, places to visit. The staff were very friendly and polite and willing to help anytime. The only negative was that breakfast was not available but to be honest there were tons of really great cafes within walking distance . The air conditioner was not the best but its central air so bring a small portable bedside fan if you wish. Room quiet at night despite busy outside. Very comfortable bed and nice separate bathroom . The wall socket did not work in my room that was the only real bummer.

Great location and friendly staff. Basic room. Towels were changed every day. Unfortunately, there was no Wi-Fi available during my stay from June 7 to June 12. I was first told the issue would be fixed within two days, but after those two days passed, another staff member informed me that there was an outage affecting the neighborhood and that the connection would only be restored on June 12, the day I was checking out. This was very disappointing, especially since reliable internet was one of the amenities I expected during my stay.

The position and help full staff and the very low price and reception open 24/7 the only good things ! All rest is a scam on expedia ! On expedia is written breakfast available for 9 euro from 7 till 12 , it is not at front desk they said no breakfast available ! Parking is very near which is good but it is written reductions available they are not paid full price ! The picture of the rooms look nice or decent which is not !

The only thing that it's wonderful in the hotel is its place. Other things, AC is central and veryyy low so the room was so hot almost couldn't sleep, bed mattress not so comfortable and heard lot of noose in the night

It's very odd that we have to return our room key when we leave. Before checkout, we had a friend come up to help us bring the bags down and the employee almost didn't allow it. As if we aren't paying for the room. Not the best experience.

Long and steep stairs to reception but there is an elevator to the other floors. The room was tiny. I’d asked and paid for a twin but we were given a double and then charged extra to move to a twin. Neither the tv nor the air conditioner worked. No phone or fridge. Great location but that’s pretty much it.

Extremely convenient location, 2 mins from the Old Port (& Metro). Handy for excursions, helpful Tourist Office plenty of eateries, shops, small supermarkets & museums. Listed as a 2*. Could easily be a 3*, but suggest investing in redecorating & general upkeep. Kept clean, comfortable, but messy / incomplete repairs. I arrived after midnight, but reception was manned & extremely helpful. Encountered 3 other very helpful staff members (unfortunately 1 one very tall, young man was ignorant & always on the phone). Would gladly stay again & highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay.
