Marina Bay Trail

Not up to double tree standards at all. Rooms are old, weird. Staff - some were friendly, some were very rude and standoffish. We checked in and were immediately met with unfriendliness, asked to pay 40+ a night for self parking in the lot, which was only five dollars less than valet, given a room that smelled awful - my wife thought it smelled like pee, to me it smelled like thousands of cigarettes and mildew. Part of the door's bottom insulation piece was missing, so noise was an issue right away. We asked to move to any other room due to these issues and were told (by the same staff member) that they wouldn't do so - only after finding someone else did they relent and move us to a different room on the bottom floor (& thank god as the elevator was unusable - so slow & terrifyingly old). This room was cleaner looking and smelling so we were happy, but then found another guests discarded dirty underwear left in the bathroom on the floor beneath the sink. At that point we gave up & decided to ride out our stay like a roller coaster, and everything was pretty okay otherwise. Bizarre stuff. Not remotely worth the cost. Tons of hidden fees or upcharges (parking, pets, breakfast - if you wanted it) and not well maintained at all, inside or out. Even the parking lot was seedy and weird. Some cars were clearly ransacked and left to sit. Dont recommend it

Overall, facilities, views, welcome, and even the pillows on the bed - wonderful! The issue was the mattress. Hard as a rock. I have a firm mattress at home. The mattress that tortured me all night was not firm. I was scouting the resort for a family trip - but wouldn’t put anyone through the sleepless night. I was up and out as early as I could be. I did speak to front desk and even left a message for head of housekeeping, and no response to apologize for the mattress that desperately needs replacement. Gosh, my joints spoke to me for days after.

Convenient, comfortable, clean, love the pool, very pretty environment, most of staff very helpful.
