I thought the property was nice with a charming restaurant . It was just for one night as a rest stop to continue on, so had everything we needed!

A good old-fashioned motel. The room was dated and stuffy. The air conditioning unit is barely functional. Pervasive fried food smells in the hallways. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable, and the beachfront location was a plus. Proximity to the local IGA grocery store is a definite plus.

Very nice and clean. Close to the water, great yard outback to enjoy the St.Lawrence and take in the scenery. Mattress was very soft.

The property has a variety of rooms. We stayed in a tiny room, not very comfortable. Our friend were in a large room, 3 times bigger than our. Nice restaurant (open Wed-Sun, closed Mon-Tue). Next to IGA, 200 meters from embankment.

Good, but not great.
COVID measures means thee is no room cleaning. But there is nowhere to put out the garbage either so ... the equipment (A/C, TV...) is getting outdated and the place needs a little love. The food is great though.

This hotel was a good price. Loved that there is a kitchen for anyone to use. The only downside to that, in our case, was that some people used it at 4:30 AM and were not even attempting to be even a bit quiet. That is certainly not a commentary on the hotel though. It's just a risk you take with the benefit of a shared kitchen. The hotel is spotless! Beds very comfortable. Small,cozy rooms. You can get four types of rooms. Comfort, standard, economic, and studio. We stayed in the comfort. My only disappointment was that the electric car charger was not working. We choose hotels largely based on which ones have car chargers. By morning, they had it fixed but not in time for us to get a much needed charge. This made for a rough start to the day where we were on a time schedule. It also meant we had to pay for a charge elsewhere (plus take time we didn't really have to get one) where it would have been free at the hotel if done through the night as we had planned. So that made things a little tense for us. Though it was inconvenient and set us back, in the big scheme of things, it wasn't the end of the world. The staff was very kind and friendly and their English was very good; much better than my French. We'd stay here again but we'd make sure the car charger is working first. ;)

Nice roadside place that combines a small hotel with a restaurant. Friendly staff. You can see that it is an older building that has been cared for. The room was small but nicely done, with good bed linens. There is a shared kitchen you can use, and a well-stocked supermarket next door. The water is right there too, perhaps 100 meters away. Not a luxury resort, but I thought it was good value for the money.

Great choice when staying and/or dining in Maria
Great auberge and restaurant. Clean, comfortable rooms with great food and service in the restaurant. Weather was wet and windy the night we arrived so we were so happy to not have to leave the property to find a place for dinner. Enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant the next morning too.

A Very Happy Customer!
Very happy with my stay! I was happy to see that my room was very beautiful, clean & newly renovated! It had a very nice view on the ocean as well! My only complaints are that my device wouldn't connect to the free WiFi and that the TV would have had more channels. During my stay, I had dinner at the hotel's restaurant which was delicious and had a decent selection of dishes made with ingredients produced locally! Overall, I am very pleased with my decision to stay at Auberge du Marchand and I would recommend it to anyone going in that area!

We had he misfortune of having night owls as neighbours. The music was not turned off until 2am. It was not that loud but the walls were so paper thin that we could hear normal conversation clearly. The rooms are located across the corridor from a restaurant with the public washrooms in the hall. Lots of walking back and forth outside the room until the bar/ restaurant closed.

Really modern rooms for an old wooden building
Nice place with an attached restaurant. Friendly staff that spoke some English as our French is very weak. It was close to the festival we attended. Grocery store nearby. Very nice open kitchen for all guests to share if desired. I would stay there again and recommend others to do so.
