Nice stay
We enjoyed our weekend even though we had a lot of rain. Visited Shipshewana as it was not that far south from the house. The lake looked wonderful even though weather did not permit us to enjoy it. Couple of items worth noting are the front door really needs a step added. It is a giant step down going out which can surprise you. Also the plateware has a gold metallic ring design which when used in microwave will spark. Not good. We used paper towel to heat items in the microwave. Overall a nice quiet neighborhood on what looks like a good fishing lake!

Wedding Adventure
We traveled from out of town to attend a wedding on a local farm. The lake house was a perfect location. The weather was a little challenging but we made it thru. Cannot wait to stay again in the summer so we can enjoy the lake more with our family. The home had everything we needed thank you.

Great House on Lake
The house was very clean. It has several upgrades. There was a new couch, gas grill, new refrigerator, and bench on dock. The lake was great for fishing, swimming, boating, and kayaking. This is a very relaxing place to spend a week.

A wonderful place for a vacation
I, my sister and my brother in law stayed here for a week while visiting family in the area. The views were wonderful, the house was clean and we had everything we needed. The layout was perfect for us, with the family room and kitchen in the middle of the house. There was also a wonderful restaurant nearby where we had dinner several times. We will be back.

Living the Lake Life
We had a lovely time at this lake house! We found it to be super clean and spacious compared to other homes in this price point. The deck was really big, and we brought our own canopy so that practically the whole thing was shaded. The yard is also a good size but a bit squishy as you get closer to the lake. We brought our boat and some of our own water toys but family also enjoyed the paddle boat that was provided. Owner was easy to communicate with and flexible with our request to put our boat on the dock before our check in time. Overall, it was fun to live the lake life here for a couple of days!

Great Lake House Getaway
Layout of house is nice, with master bedroom at one end and two other bedrooms on the opposite end. Nice sized kitchen. Based on other reviews, we brought additional towels and blankets. Beautiful large deck with plenty of seating with views of the lake. We enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed our stay at lake house.
House has decent curb appeal and liked the layout of house. Has neat nautical theme. Has nice dock to dock boat and fish from. Kids enjoyed fishing from dock. Bring your own water and blankets if cold at night. Bedding, dishwater, and plumbing fixtures could use update. Overall we had a good time and would recommend if you’re used to typical lake house issues.

Everything was very good . Coming in at nighttime could use a little more lighting to go a high step up to deck & front door very high step up . We are older and husband has a bad left leg/knee . Otherwise a great property & stay

Lovely home in a lovely setting
My in-laws are aging and don’t do multi-level well. This place was perfect. There are steps no matter how you get in, but between the house and the deck, so easy for them to be outside and be with the family. They have a boat that we docked at the house so it was just perfect.

Real nice house.fishing was terrific, large grounds ,quiet , but you are basically staying in the area with nothing around you if you're looking for some kind of a gas station pick up something quick there's a limited amount or none it's an offbeat location I needed to get to Sister Lakes and it was a hell of a tour getting to Sister Lakes but the place and area or very good

Peaceful Lakeview
We really enjoyed the peaceful mornings drinking our coffee and watching the lake and wildlife. The house and back porch are very spacious and the neighborhood was pretty quiet even during a holiday weekend. We would definitely stay again. For those with mobility limitations, the step to get in the front door is massive (no railing for assistance) and the house is not wheelchair accessible.

We Loved Almost Everything
We loved everything except the beds. The youngest member of our group is 67, and the oldest is 82. It would have been great if the 2 small bedrooms had better (bigger) beds. We hope to come back next year, even if we have to bring an air mattress. All in all, we had a marvelous time...

Wonderful Lake Home Rental
Large home with a great deck and dock to view the eagles, swans, herons and geese. Pan fishing was excellent right off the dock, even caught a large bass. We rented a pontoon and enjoyed the chain of three lakes. The house was so large that we did not use the dining area or the living room; spent all of our time on the deck and the attached family room/kitchen area.

Quiet neighborhood, good fishing from the dock. Plentiful geese, swans even an eagle. The house is simple, very hard water, ants in the kitchen (ant traps a plenty). We experience a small gas leak with the old kitchen stove - owner replaced with newer stove, no more leak. Furniture is very uncomfortable. bar stools difficult to sit at as well, best place was the dining table. The twin bed mattresses were uncomfortable, our friends refused to sleep over after the first night. The master bed was ok,. Lots of blankets.

Perfect Lakehouse for Family Trip
My family and I enjoyed our 4 night stay at this property. The property was as advertised, very clean, and exactly what I was looking for and what I expected. Caught lots of fish off the pier and on the boat, saw bald eagles, as well as miniature horses at a house nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider coming back again in the future.

My only criticism is the pictures arent doing the place justice. Its a quiet neighborhood and on a lake. The kids caught dozens of fish off the dock and ran wild in the backyard. Short drive/ long walk away there is a restaurant/ bar with great food. We will hopefully be able to return.

Quiet lake, beautiful land
I am glad I read previous reviews and brought sheets to cover the couches, they were old and uncomfortable. There are minimal supplies as far as dishes, cookie sheets, etc. The lake is quiet and we appreciated being able to rent the boat and the wave runner, made for a great week on the lake. There is a great restaurant nearby called The Rock, but that is it, everything else is 20 + minutes away. Jerry was always willing to answer our questions. For a rental, I thought things should be more organized as far as check in and even instructions for how the tv/firestick worked, we had to reach out to Jerry. I think of this more like a cottage as far as supplies, definitely could be updated.

It’s not the Ritz- but as advertised
The house was clean and was just like advertised. AC and WiFi worked. The lawn was huge and well maintained. Neighbors super friendly. The house was even bigger than we expected. But don’t expect any extras. After reading other reviews, we brought our own coffee pot, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, lawn chairs to sit in and even sheets. House could use updates and certainly new furniture. We put sheets over the couch because it was so old and worn. Beds were very thin and uncomfortable! And if you need to get hold of the owner- forget it. They never responded to anything - even when should we take out the trash for trash day. There was a “greeting” owner letter in crayon, - If There are any flies in the house after we leave, it would be our responsibility. Use the fly swatter.” We left all clean (and no flies) as we were afraid of extra charges.

Great 4th of July weekend!
This was a perfect location for a 4th of July weekend getaway with friends! The yard was perfect for games, bonfires, and more! We definitely took advantage of the water and pedal boat that were available! Plenty of space for us to all spread out inside as well. Pack some extra towels and paper products and you’ll be golden!

Unfortunately the cleaning person and family were still there when we arrived 1 hour past check in. On the bright side she did an awesome job and the place was clean. However there was no toilet paper, no hand soap and 1 bath towel. Family room couch was dirty and the fire pit was inaccessible the first night. Has potential but not ready for visitors when we were there.

I am sorry to say this but this house was Ill equipped for a VRBO property. No toilet paper, no paper towels, no toaster, no corkscrew, no blender, every coffee cup (all unmatched) had a chip or crack in it. Furniture is old, worn out, and outdated. The owner only had one set of keys and needed our set to get in to repair a leaking faucet and broken toilet seat bolt. A single serve coffee maker is hard to manage when there are several coffee drinkers, there should be a coffee pot. A charcoal grill is offered but there is no charcoal, lighter fluid, or a lighter or matches of any kind. Second and third bedroom beds are sub-par, two of the beds mattresses are almost sitting on the floor. Towels are unmatched, old, and warn out, lighting is dark and cheap. Water pressure in the second bath is a trickle. There are several more points but I choose not to go on. The bottom line is the owner is missing a huge opportunity to have high quality renters lined up to rent his place for a lot more money with just a little attention to detail and updating. It is a REALLY nice location in a very peaceful setting with huge potential. He may be missing the proverbial boat.

My friends and I really enjoyed staying at this lake house! The size seemed a lot bigger in person. The paddle-boat was fun taking it out on the lake. If you’re looking for a good little getaway for a few days, this is the place.

Fun Girls Weekend
We had a wonderful time at Jerry’s place. Very clean and had everything we needed for a girls weekend get-away. We especially enjoyed the fire pit, paddle boat and renting his pontoon for the day. Beautiful back porch to sit and enjoy peaceful lake views. We’ll definitely be back!

It is a nice set up for a lake weekend; however, there are no extra consumable kitchen supplies like salt, or oil, or pepper. Also, there was not enough toilet paper or soap in the bathroom, so it would be good to bring that as well.

Overall it was a good and easy experience. small issue dealt with promptly. Checking in was awkward as the cleaning lady was still there when we arrived at 4:00 check-in. The door key box was empty and all doors were locked. We couldn’t move in for almost an hour after check- in when we finally got her attention at a sliding door. She remained there cleaning for another hour after we moved in. On the bright side- the property was very clean. Regarding the VRBO site- it was difficult to navigate and connect with the property owner. Email had to go through site and made it challenging. At no time did the site allow owner and renter to simply communicate directly through phones. I had to request the owners phone number from the cleaning lady , which she graciously provided.
