So relaxing and we will be returning in the future
Great countryside getaway with lots of wild kangaroos, deers and native birds. Fantastic sunrise and sunsets views over Lake Eildon. Very spacious house with plenty of room for 6 adults. We picked this property as we had overseas family visiting and we all agreed that we could not had picked a better location to stay
Went away with my Mum for a quiet weekend away. Location was amazing, clear views of the lake and surrounding hills. Property was nice and clean and cozy, and we got to see heaps of kangaroos and deer wandering about. Hosts were very accomodating of a late change. Would love to come back with my partner one day. Absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. Thanks you for having us!
This place is just perfect to relax and unwind. The location is great with being just a 15minute drive away from the main area in Mansfield. The house has so much character and plenty of space for the family to run around. We enjoyed the veranda and the views of the hills and lake which was a nice way to start each day while listening to the birds and farm animals. If youβre lucky enough the kangarooβs will come right up to the house and feed on the plants. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The fire place keeps the place nice and warm. We will definitely keep this place saved for future stays. Helen and Matthew are amazing to communicate with if needed during your stay.

We enjoyed the property immensely. It was airy, open plan and well cared for. The best is the beautiful views. Loved it. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you to the owners. π
A nice big house with everything you could need. A bit dated but very clean and superb views-not to mention the friendly kangaroos every day!
We all had a lovely time and were able to relax in the house around the cosy fire at night.
Such a lovely place to relax and enjoy the views of the lake and gardens! We had a wonderful stay at this home with Lake Eildon and Mansfield nearby to explore. The house had effective and welcome cooling during a very hot week and all the rooms were spacious & clean. We loved seeing the kangaroos every evening! Helen, the owner, was quick to reply to any booking enquiry and we appreciated this. We highly recommend Melliodora for friends and families to escape to the high country!
Melliodora is a simple country house in a delightful and peaceful picturesque location. It's as if the owners just walked out and let us have their home for a few days, such are the delightful personal effects, furniture, ornaments and prints inside, plus the numerous amenities.
The home is situated in spectacular Victorian rural country with rolling hills and overlooking an arm of Lake Eildon. The scented garden and nearby olive grove complete the ambience of relaxation, even with our busy family to share. 5 stars.
This is a really spacious and comfortable house with everything you need supplied. The verandah and views and the wildlife make it exceptional. We ate all our meals out on the verandah and saw kangaroos, a fox and plenty of birds. Great beds. The air conditioning works but is a bit old and noisy. If you like slick, modern decor and proximity to shops and cafes it is not for you. We loved the quiet and the privacy. I think our car would have struggled with the gravel road and driveway if it had been wet but this would be a lovely, cosy house in the winter. I did think the lighting in the kitchen could be better. We loved our four days there.
Nice and quiet. Heaps of birds and kangaroos around the house. Beautiful views. Only issue was ants in the house, particularly bathroom/toilet, but I scooped them out and re-homed them π
It was a fantastic place to spend a couple of days - the views over the lake and hills were glorious, particularly when sitting on the verandah with a coffee

Fantastic views! The milky way just across the roof, climb up to the top of hill just perfect to see the sunset with golden Lake Eildon. Definitely will come back again!
If the shower head can be the handheld one rather than the wall mounted, will be much more perfect for the family with younger kids.
The main attraction for my wife and I were the stunning views all round the house. It was also so quiet and unspoiled with a magnificent view of Lake Eildon from the covered decking, the perfect place to unwind and relax during a glorious summer week. Our eighteen year-old daughter enjoyed it too, especially the hammock-like chair. Our son (20) wished heβd brought his bike. Some good rides in the area. Three bedrooms made it ideal for us, but only one toilet was a little surprising.
Very clean and well presented on arrival. Good bushwalks out towards Mt Buller and kayaking at Jamieson.
