About this property
Terrace House: Manistique MI Vacation Home | Central UP | Sleeps 6
TERRACE HOUSE SLEEPS: 6 BEDROOMS: 3 BATHROOMS: 1 IN-TOWN: Manistique PARKING: 3 cars MAX GREAT CENTRAL LOCATION FOR FAMILY VACATIONS, GOLF & FISHING RETREATS in the Central Upper Peninsula
Relax on the front porch of this classic Craftsman -style home, with the ideal mix or updates and original woodwork. Soak in the small town feel, with the convenience of exploring the Central Upper Peninsula with ease!
Take a 9-block stroll south, down to Lake Michigan, or 4 blocks west to local restaurants. Enjoy the local Manistique atmosphere, stroll the peaceful boardwalk or take a quick drive to Kitch-iti-kipi- known as the Big Spring-- in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where the water is crystal clear, and can be observed from a self-operated raft.
Indian Lake State Park is just a 9 minute drive (5.4 miles) ! Launch your boat, bring your ice fishing gear or relax on the sandy beach during your stay. Indian Lake is the 4th largest inland lake in the Upper Peninsula with an area of 8.400 acres. It is 6 miles long and 3 miles wide. In our experience, the sandy beach is rarely busy, and provides great family swimming opportunities within the roped off areas (Life guards are not normally present on this quiet, sandy beach) . Drive- in with your Michigan Recreation Passport, or purchase a day pass at the gate.

This home is just a few blocks from Main Street and center of town, very easy to walk. Very nice neighbor hood. The boat marina and beach boardwalk are about 1 mile and enjoyable to visit. Very friendly community. Enjoyed my visit with family and friends.
We enjoyed staying there. The house was very clean, comfortable, and plenty of space. Very nice front porch. We talked to some neighbors who were very friendly and provided some additional thoughts on some great things to do in the area.
Loved the old house and the woodwork. The house was clean and accommodating. The house was near the water and several other attractions, which was nice. We would definitely visit again.
Secluded location, beautiful and spacious home! Close to down town, but removed from the hustle and bustle of down town. Thank you so much for being pet friendly and accommodating for the alarms that needed replacing.
My three friends and I came from Marquette and Gladstone to spend a weekend in Manistique, shopping, eating, and catching the Halloween showing at the drive-in. The sweet little bungalow on Terrace was the perfect home base. We all live in and are crazy about old houses, and we were not disappointed! The home was clean, comfortable, and oh-so-charming!! I found myself dreaming of living there ☺️.
This listing is really so cute. It seemed small from the outside but we found it very roomy with plenty of space to spread out inside. VERY clean and stocked with all we needed. Beds were new and comfortable. Really loved the creaftmanship and the vintage feel of the home. We will definitely stay here again. Loved the house! (did not love the couch so much...would politely suggest replacing but that is the only drawback of the entire house)
We are foster parents and needed to come to town for a hockey tournament. The cost of 2 hotel rooms to fit our family was double the cost of renting this amazing little house, enough beds amd space for us all the have a comfortable time. Beds were so comfortable we slept like babies! Played games at the table, cooked meals as a family and everyone had a great time making memories. Living room furniture was not super cozy- only negative!
We loved the location in the upper peninsula as we could do day trips. Jacks Supermarket is 4 minutes away. By far, the nicest supermarket I have ever seen! ( And I've seen many). The kitchen and bathroom were modern but the rest of the house was Victorian! I loved it! It was very well maintained! Lawn needed cutting but the house was very clean!! We recommend this place to anyone!!
Having both grown up in houses built in the 19th and early 20th centuries, my wife and I felt very comfortable in this house. The amenities were sufficient to our needs, and the view of the neighborhood satisfying.
The only thing I would recommend to the owners is to provide furniture in the living room consistent with the era the house was built. A large, overstuffed couch would have been more comfortable.
At first (when I walked in) wasn’t sure about the place but it’s SO CLEAN and by the end of our long weekend this charming house full of character really grew on me. It is within walking distance to the start of the boardwalk/beach. I did love it. The salt shaker is broken - so it pours salt on your food lol (I forgot to tell them that hopefully they read this and get a new one . the property managers are SO attentive as well. When I first got there and was checking in on the tablet it asked me my first impression and it smelled alittle musty (I think from being closed up because it was not a problem AT ALL during our stay) so I mentioned that not thinking much of it and they called me within 30 minutes about that comment offering to come bring plug ins or anything to make me happier! I was surprised and thought that was very impressive ! (Plug ins etc was not needed) this is a very homey home up kinda on a hill. Quiet- VERY nice !
House is cute and well cleaned. We had fun being here because all the places we wanted to visit was not to far. The only complaint we have is the up stairs room get very hot, even with the fans they provided.
The property is well maintained and close to the downtown area with cute shops and dining. It has a cozy front porch to enjoy the sunsets. The town has a nice lakefront and walking path. The only downside of the property is the 24 hour surveillance from a property next door.
Charming old home with lots of character. The home had everything we needed. The bedrooms were comfy and spacious. Kitchen was well stocked and enjoyable to use. Lots of natural light throughout the home. Plenty of parking space . A very nice neighborhood close to everything. Centrally located to all the upper peninsula has to offer. We enjoyed our stay and our pup did too. Thank you.
Stayed 30 days for work. The house was big enough for myself and my co-worker. The property manager was extremely quick to respond when a problem with the dryer arose, and sent someone immediately. The couch is unbelievably uncomfortable! Infact, I bought a recliner off FB Marketplace to sit in while i was there, and then donated it when I left. The house is old and has charm, including a very noisy staircase.
Terrace House fit our needs great. Perfect location- could walk to main Downtown area in Manistique. The house was cozy and nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The only reason I gave four stars overall was because the upstairs got quite warm. Michigan summer months can get pretty hot and I think it would be beneficial to guests to have a small window unit in one of the upstairs bedrooms to cool it down. The main level had a small A/C unit that worked nicely but even with fans attempting to move the cooler air around, it did not really cool the upper level down.
