Tucked into a hollow on the eastern edge of Prairiewood's preserve, Willow Suite has everything you need for a weekend getaway or simple overnight stay: charming living quarters with gas fireplace, spa-like bathroom with deep soaker tub, comfort amenities including hospitality counter with Keurig, mini fridge, and microwave, patio with outdoor seating, and yard with fire pit, hammock, and grill — all with easy access to trails, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.

HomePlace features two casita-style guest suites, Willow and Cottonwood, both of which are nestled into the lower side of an authentic timber frame home. Each has a completely separate entrance with no interior door connecting to the larger home, making them comfortably private. As part of Prairiewood Tallgrass Preserve, guests have access to over 400 acres of native and restored tallgrass prairie, including a private dock on Wildcat Creek with awaiting kayaks, miles of hiking and walking trails, and Walnut Pond picnic area with its surrounding Bird, Bee & Butterfly Sanctuary.

Picturesque and Relaxing!

This was a great location for a couple days of flint hills sightseeing. It was really nice to be just 15 minutes from Manhattan restaurants and close to the scenic byway. The hosts thought of everything you need for a cozy stay and the bathroom was like a little spa retreat. We had a great stay!

Second stay- eager to return!

In addition to being a beautifully decorated room and bath in a setting so lush it seems you are on a movie set, I really enjoy this vacation rental for how thoughtfully furnished and supplied it is by the owners. There are plenty of snacks plus fresh cookies on the day of arrival, the linens are cozy, and the tub is one that I actually enjoy using. There is a closet stocked w/ anything you might find you need: fire starter for the fire pit outside, dishes and silverware, even an ice maker. The greenery outside is so refreshing, and I love the tranquility of the walking trails. I plan to return in the early spring of 2025. Hands down, one of my all time absolute favorite places to stay when I am away from home.

They had a lot of little things, such as starter logs for a fire and portable speaker, that really stood out to us in how much thought they put into their guests. We stayed here on a whim while visiting family in Manhattan. This stay somehow looks even better than the photos. The hosts thought about absolutely everything - there's a fridge, microwave, ice maker, snacks, fresh cream for coffee, fresh baked cookies on arrival... I could go on for ages. Communication was phenomenal. The grounds were magical - we sat outside every morning drinking coffee and bird watching before a morning hike around the gorgeous property. They even opened up the barn (a gorgeous private venue) for drinks, lawn games, and live music. We wish we could've stayed longer! If we ever end up back in the area, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Cozy and cute!

First, communication with the host was excellent. Not only were responses very quick, but the host exceeded expectations. Second, the suite was not only so very cozy, but it's obvious the hosts have been doing this a while because the room had absolutely every amenity you could need. Lastly, the only regret I have is not having more time. The grounds are amazing and the bird watching right from the room was fantastic (Woodpeckers, Cardinals, Bluejays, etc.)! It's also not far from "the city" yet feels like you're far away tucked in the country/woods. I definitely want to return so I can enjoy the grounds more as there is so much to offer. Thank you so much for making this an incredible stay!

This was just what we needed. This was a gift to to my husband for his birthday & everything was perfect. Location was remote enough & so quiet. They take much care of the space & provided many nice touches like candles, filtered water, 2 sitting areas outside, fresh baked cookies, dimmers for the lights, plates, silverware, everything.
