Getting to it is an absolute nightmare. One has to travel down almost 2 miles of dirt, gravel road up the side of a mountain, the GPS that I was using got completely confused and sent me down the wrong dirt road, someone from the hotel had to come to the town square to lead me cause it was impossible to find the place. Once there the hotel was great, staff from friendly and pleasant. Adrian is a superhost for sure. He gave information, answered calls immediately, whatever I asked he provided. He even washed and polished my car as mountain dusty at bear sanctuary. The home was immaculate, with views to die for, bedding towels and hair dryer provided. Internet/WiFi, road a dirt track but what a ride seeing mountains, running hills and valleys - the local cows with bells, horse and carriages, dogs, cats, birds that roam freely, it was a delight. When meeting him from airport don't venture off the main road if Google tells you to. I ended up a mountain pitch black and got stuck having to come back down backwards. Not fun! Adrian meets you in a carpark near a memorial and childrens park, so no need to worry. You can guarantee he'll be there. Thanks Adrian I couldn't of asked for more. When we arrived, we had a bit of a hard time checking in. Instructions weren’t clear that the “room key” code is used to access the main gate, the lobby, and the room itself. It took us awhile to figure it out and get our car in. When we got in, the entire place was dark with all lights off and all doors locked. We finally called the manager for assistance as no other workers were onsite. Thankfully, he was responsive and helped us get into the space. We then had to figure out all the light switches ourselves, despite being told later that the owner is able to control them remotely… The property itself is beautiful & we ended up having the whole place to ourselves which was a nice perk. However, we were not aware that we needed to give the property advance notice if we wanted to use the spa/sauna facilities. It is not specified in the property listing. We were also not told that the restaurant is closed for dinner in the off-season so we had to drive to a couple places to find an open venue for dinner. Because there was no one onsite, we couldn’t enjoy a welcoming environment or some of the listed amenities like the fire place. The one positive was breakfast in the morning was very good. Overall, I would recommend staying here in the on-season if possible for the best experience.
