COVID-19 may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't shut down our love of exploring. Here are some tips on how to cope with the new challenges of travelling:

• Know what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you book.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to briefly lower it for identification purposes. Travellers who refuse to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, you should position the pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. This will need to be taken out for X-ray scanning.
• Empty everything from your pocket, like your phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will minimize handling during screening.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
